As Guido revealed in the Sun yesterday, BIS is trying to blame the European Union for the splurge. Bonkers Brussels directives have forced his department to throw out their old system on the grounds the coolant used apparently contributed to global warming. Instead of telling the penpushers where to go, Vince has wasted millions. At least the taxpayer is safe in the knowledge that the new BIS air con uses “more modern and energy efficient equipment that meets legal requirements”. Chilling.
