Foreign policy expert Diane Abbott has told Ed Miliband in no uncertain terms what the consequences will be if he backs military intervention in Syria. Labour are in the odd position of whipping the vote tomorrow despite not yet having a position on it. Abbott says she will be put in a “very difficult position” if she is whipped to vote for military action. As a frontbencher, defying the whips would require her resignation.
