Dave Says Philpott Case Raises Welfare Questions

The PM has backed Osborne’s decision to come out and ask why the taxpayer subsidised kid killer Mick Philpott’s feckless lifestyle yesterday:

“I think what George Osborne said was absolutely right. He said that Mr Philpott was the one to blame for his crimes, that he should be held responsible, but what the Chancellor went on to say is we should ask some wider questions about our welfare system, how much it costs and the signals that it sends and we do want to make clear that welfare is there to help people – it shouldn’t be there as a lifestyle choice.”

Quote of the Day

Rowan Atkinson tells The Times

“All jokes about religion cause offence, so it’s pointless apologising for them. You should really only apologise for a bad joke. On that basis, no apology is required.”
