Max Clifford Accuses Former Tory Minister Says Alan Clark Interfered With Underage Girls

This explosive video from a few years ago has re-surfaced on the internet. He who knows where all the bodies are buried, the tabloid publicist Max Clifford, names Alan Clark as one of the alleged Tory paedophiles. Boasting  about how he made the Harkesses a lot of money – Valerie the then 57-year-old wife of James Harkess, her daughters Josephine, 34 sister Alison, 36 – for their tale of the seduction of all three by Clark:

“The only slightly serious side about it was he’d actually interfered with those girls from the age of fourteen.”

Clifford goes on to boast that: “I’ve got all the evidence. I’m the one who’s hidden it from the world. I know where everything is and the proof is”Words he may come to regret…

Will this appear in the tabloids? Don’t count on it, Max is close to editors. He trades stories with them, suppressing stories about a clients who wants to keep secrets for a stories about clients who wants the limelight. Max has plenty he wants to keep hidden…

Schofes So Sorry

Philip Schofield has issued an apology for this morning’s on air blunder with the PM:

“If any viewer was able to identify anyone, I would like to apologise…there may have been a misjudged camera angle.”

It wasn’t only the camera angle that was misjudged…

Quote of the Day

Max Clifford recorded on covert video…

“I know that the truth will destroy them, and they don’t deserve that. So I create a false image. I’m deceiving people, I’m lying, for sure…”

Breaking : NUJ Chapel Strike Ballot at Guardian

Sources tell Guido that the NUJ chapel at the Guardian are balloting on whether or not to have a full vote on whether or not to strike. How this will help the situation is beyond Guido.

Given the Guardian loses a £100,000-a-day it might even save them money…

Margaret Moran Accused

Margaret Moran’s expenses trial got under way this morning, even if the former Labour MP’s mental health means she will not appear in the dock herself.

Moran is alleged to have claimed some £53,000 in false expenses. Here are the nine counts that were read out in court earlier today:

  • Count 1: Claiming £575.78 for a washing machine, fridge and kettle for her 2nd home in London, though they were really for her main home in Luton.
  • Count 2: Claiming £181.37 for a locksmith at her office. The work was done at her main home in Luton.
  • Count 3: Claiming £87.09 for gas fire repair at second home. The work was done at her main home.
  • Count 4: Claiming £527.20 for a bed and £2678.76 for carpets for her 2nd home. They were really for her main home.
  • Count 5: Claiming £979.84 for an estimate for kitchen work. The work was never done.
  • Counts 6 & 7: Using a bogus invoice and claiming £4756.40 for kitchen units that were never installed.
  • Counts 8 & 9: Ten claims for utility bills totalling £2424 when the true cost was £286.35.

The trial continues…

Louise Mensch is at it again in the Guardian today:

“They [the public] expect their politicians to do more than appear on gameshows.”

WATCH: Redacted Video of Schofield Alleged Paedo Blunder

Guido has reduced the quality of the This Morning clip, but you could clearly see Philip Schofield revealing the  names of alleged Tory paedophiles on the back of the card that he handed to the Prime Minister.

Hope ITV have got a good lawyer…

Schofield Revealed Alleged Tory Paedo List on Screen

In what would have been an otherwise successful ambushing of the PM on This Morning, Philip Schofield handed Cameron a card with alleged Tory paedophiles written on the back of it. However he inadvertently twisted the card as it was handed over, revealing at least four printed names on the back of it. Two names are distinctly clear – Guido has blurred the image above – we have the broadcast quality footage where the names are readable. Uh oh…

UPDATE: We now believe we can see five names on the card.

Cable’s £1.6 Million Growth Plan

It was hardly a surprise when Vince Cable was outed as the most wasteful spender in government this summer, but the Minister for Profligacy’s cheque-writing dalliances don’t stop there. Guido can reveal that the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has spent over £1.6 million of taxpayers’ money doing up its offices in this year alone.

While a chunk of the cash was justifiably spent on dealing with an asbestos problem, over a hundred grand was shelled out on aesthetic work. Thousands more were spent on redecorating and improving lighting. The boys at BIS have gone into spin overdrive, reeling off the usual lines that the spending will be recouped and that savings will be made in the long run. Good to see Vince has a growth plan at last…

Find out why Ofcom are sniffing around the BBC

…Only over on MediaGuido

Ofcom Issue BBC Warning

As if two internal inquiries, a select committee grilling and a police investigation were not enough, the BBC are now facing interest from another quarter: Ofcom are sniffing around. Guido understands that Ofcom are keeping a close eye on ongoing developments with a view to launching their own action. While they do not have the power to make the Beeb undergo a full fit and proper person test, Ofcom boss Ed Richard explains in a letter to Tory MP Philip Davies:

“We licence a number of BBC companies and we will have regard to any relevant findings of the ongoing BBC inquiry, the police and the select committee in relation to these.”

Their interest will hardly be welcome at Great Portland Street…

Labour’s Celebrity Parliament Dodger

Labour quickly went on the attack when Nadine flew to the jungle. Chris Bryant went as far as suggesting a by-election for missing recess. So what do they recommend for their own parliament dodger?

In 2012 Nadine has spoken in thirty debates in the Commons, comfortably above average. How many has the former Prime Mentalist piped up in? Just one. The jungle-venturing scourge of the posh boys has received answers to some sixty written questions over the last twelve months, compared with a paltry eight for Gordon. And how do the pair fare in terms of vote attendance? Nadine has had her say in 71% of votes during the last year, with Brown bothering to turn up to just 14%.

Sampling kangaroo testicles will controversially land Nadine £40,000, which pales into significance when you think McMental’s sucking up to foreign dignitaries has clocked up £1.4 million.

Two wrongs dont make a right, but spare us the lectures. If Labour are serious about MPs doing their job, perhaps they should remove the whip from Gordon…
