MPs’ future career prospects and celebrity shows do not normally go hand-in-hand. (See Galloway, G. Opik, L.) Sitting MPs with a high chance of being re-elected should be especially wary. However that has not stopped Nadine apparently signing up for I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. She will be spending up to a month in the jungle from next Sunday.

Nadine’s Mid-Bedfordshire seat was facing the prospect of being split in two in the Boundary Reviews, and with her vocal complaints about the party leadership, it would be unlikely that they would be finding her a new patch. The fact that the reviews are all but dead, and Nadine’s safe seat will remain just that, makes the decision all the more baffling. Highly amusing, but baffling. Guido will be watching!

UPDATE: If she is voted out early she won’t miss much:

Next week from 12 November to 19 November parliament is in recess, if Nadine gets voted out early she will miss nowt.
