Guessing that Elgar wrote Rule Britannia will have them wincing in the shires and being unable to translate Magna Carta to Great Charter does not say much for Eton and Brasenose, Oxford. He took it with good humour, though you bet we will be seeing the “I’ve ended my career in your show tonight” line again…
