Osborne will be lucky to escape a turn on the stand now that increasingly feisty red-head has declared that she discussed the BSkyB with him, as Guido reported earlier. Things are getting really bad now for Jeremy Hunt. A new email has emerged from News Corp spinmeister Fred Michel claiming that “JH” sought guidance on the developing hacking scandal on June 27 2011 – just over a week before the Screws went under. Hunt’s defence will be that it was Adam Smith but that line was already looking weak. Crucially it says Hunt was seeking guidance for No. 10. Developing…

UPDATE: The wording is said to be that Hunt asked NI to “advise privately” to “guide his and No.10’s positioning”. A conspiracy theorist may wonder why this second round of trouble did not make it into the original cache of emails…
