As the G20 prepares to head to one of the world’s most expensive holiday destinations – Cannes – Europe is still reeling from the utterly outrageous Greek suggestion that the people should have a say in their own destiny. The French are furious, the Germans are crying and Cameron only found out from the TV news…

Late yesterday afternoon the Greek’s sacked their military top brass. At this time of unrest, the last people they should be upsetting are the generals. Last night the cabinet “unilaterally backed” George Papandreou’s referendum plan, weakening the overthrow rumours. This morning the talk is of bringing the vote forward to next month…
