75,000 people have signed the petition on the Downing Street website urging the government not to end the vouchers, surpassing as the largest petition on the website the petition calling on Gordon to resign.  43 Labour MPs, including nine ex-ministers, have opposed the plan. Gordon just seems determined to punish the hard-working middle classes, who actually pay for everything, even more.
