Gordon’s Away-Day on News 24

News 24 is following Gordon around all day today. He is visiting schools, smiling like he has necked a jumbo mood-altering cocktail of Prozac and Ecstasy. Bullshitting continuously, refusing to answer any questions of substance. Gordon has just denied that Lord Sainsbury was checking out of the sinking sleazy ship. (Guido paraphrases the exasperated interviewer, but only a little). What was the editorial judgement exercised here by the BBC when Gordon’s people proposed “A day in the life of Gordon Brown”?

Guido thinks it misguided to accuse the Beeb of soft-soaping Gordon because of inherent institutional bias, this is clearly worth votes for Dave from the few people who watch News 24. The more you see of Gordon, the more you despise him.

Quote of the Day

Rowan Atkinson tells The Times

“All jokes about religion cause offence, so it’s pointless apologising for them. You should really only apologise for a bad joke. On that basis, no apology is required.”
