The money on Gordon has piled in and there is hardly any value in betting on him at this price. Guido has readjusted his book. Alan Johnson will Guido understands rule himself out of the leadership stakes tomorrow – announcing he is a candidate only for deputy leader.

Guido has however re-backed John Reid for leader after covering his bet last month, the spin that he had reached a deal with Gordon seems to be just that – spin. Reid has in interviews been careful to rule nothing in or out. Using the “there is no vacancy line” to justify his position. Worth a punt on Betfair in the teens at these prices methinks…
