The red rosette wearing Recess Monkey is gloating that his sources in the Battersea Labour party are boasting that they voted for the candidate most likely to irritate the Tory mainstream rank and file.

Recess Monkey just happens to know that there were indeed a number of low-profile Labour supporters at the meeting, all of whom had been briefed as to which candidate was most likely to wind up the membership.

It seems odd that of the four candidates the most left-wing outside the mainstream candidate was selected. The Monkey could be stirring things up, except it seems to be beyond doubt that there were definitely some Labour activists at the open primary. Who knows for sure if it was enough to swing it?
