Took Guido half an hour to moderate the comments this morning, deleting some of the more nutty contributions – some, not all. Guido gets perverse satisfaction from deleting the most longwinded comments without reading them. Whatever happened to the amusing witty comment makers? Perry de Havilland of Samizdata and the Big Blog Company told Guido when he started this blog to ignore comment makers. I do, particularly the many that start “You are a ******* ****”.

The policy on comments is here and here, sometimes the policy is ignored and sometimes mistakes are made, but mostly it is enforced. The comments are on private property, Guido has built the wall and allows you to graffiti on it, but it is still his wall.

I see the Press Association and the Guardian have run with the Inigo/Orange story today…
