Guido popped into the lobby briefing again today. Adam Boulton was a tad belligerent with the PMOS. The heat meant it was a little too hot for Guido to bother with his carefully constructed question knowing it would result in a “no comment”. It must be quite a challenge for Tom Kelly to have to think up endless new ways of saying “no comment” every day. Guido admires the man in a bizarre way, he has a fundamentally weird job – spinning for a living on behalf of a shyster.

Guido would have live blogged it, but was more concerned and interested in a shaving cut and couldn’t get his mobile to email to say how boring it was anyway. Imagine having to do this day in and day out. On the other hand one of the civil servants transcribing was quite pretty with flirty eyes…

Brought a racing correspondent along with me. He said racing was far more fun to report on, was more honest and the lobby seems a complete and utter waste of time which would drive him to drink. We went to the pub.
