In a long line of Big Media whiners, Peter Wilby in the
New Statesman is the latest
grande dame to produce some knocking copy
“The bloggers have stirred things up a little, but they still depend on traditional papers to break news and give it substance”. Something that is a nonsense and Guido’s readers know it, as do the readers of all
the best political blogs. Peter Wilby writes about the media, literally recycling news about
the news, whereas Guido
breaks news stories. The idea that it is not news until Peter Wilby reads it on paper somewhere else is laughable.
Today’s story picked up by the press and broken first on this blog – is that Jon Snow helped police with their inquiries. Guido’s co-conspirators read it here last week, you can read it today in the journos trade paper the Press Gazette. Peter Wilby might pick it up next week – because he still depends for his living on traditional papers.
