The currently out of service Recess Monkey blog had, before it collapsed, a story about Angus MacNeil MP sending spuds through the parliamentary mail system. Hugo Rifkind, The Times’ gossip coumnist checked out the story with the MP. Angus denied it.

Now why would a Labour leaning blogger spread such a story about a newly elected MP from the far reaches of Scotland? Could it be something to do with the fact that Angus is the MP who called in Yates of the Yard to investigate the cash for honours scandal?

Is someone out to tarnish the reputation of the only other man to enter parliament with honest intentions?
