Bye, Bye Hefferlump

There will be the clinking of champagne glasses in Notting Hill, Iain Dale might permit himself a cackle and Nicholas Boles will do a victory dance. Simon Heffer is off. He is withdrawing his support for the Conservative party under David Cameron.

The man who wrote that Cameron’s Conservatives are “not really of an intellectual stature worthy of my wanting to engage in debate with” will Guido understands* endorse UKIP at a meeting next Monday in Bromley with Nigel Farrage. Yes, the Hefferlump has found his true home with the intellectuals of UKIP. Guido will definitely order a better bottle of wine this lunchtime.

*See just like Nick Robinson, Guido “understands” things.

Quote of the Day

Councillor John Thomas, Keith Vaz’s Leicester East Constituency Labour Party Chairman says…

“This is great disappointment to me, realising that I have spent over 30 years of my life working for a party that I now know that I have nothing in common with. This is not the party I joined, the party for decent working people. I can no longer follow the clown that leads the Labour Party, he is heavily influenced by the Trotskyite Len McCluskey and is now as the Hoki Coki leader, in out, and shake it all about he has turned this great party into a laughing stock.”
