Guido has been known to have the odd joint (when not doing crack cocaine). So it would be churlish of him not to welcome the news that the new Home Office Minister for Drugs, Vernon Coaker, had “one or two puffs of marijuana” while a student. He now claims he did not enjoy the experience and decided not to repeat it. Yeah, right.

That vague claim of the occasional toke is dubious. His memory loss on the subject is itself indicative of heavy dope use. He says: “When I was a student, I took one or two puffs of marijuana but that was it. I think it was once or twice.” Translated: he was stoned throughout his Uni days. Isn’t that a “normal university experience”?
