LibDem Alternative Interpretation mdi-fullscreen

Reading the Lib Dem News and LibDem blogs, Guido wonders if the “Real Alternative” (© C. Kennedy) exists in an alternative reality.

“A remarkable achievement” is how they describe gaining 2 councillors nationally on the night when the Labour party lost 319 seats. We are always being told how brilliant they are at local campaigning, why the editorial writer of Lib Dem News, Councillor John Bridges himself, is always emphasising how well they campaign in locals. John Bridges should know because he is the paid political officer of the Association of Lib Dem Councillors.

Maybe they should reconsider his salary – in his own ward his majority was slashed by 50% (LD Gorton Soouth, Manchester) and of the 4 LibDem losses in Manchester, one was even in the neighbouring ward of Gorton North. A remarkable achievement indeed.

UPDATE : Apparently he does not write editorials for LDN, he writes the “By-Election” column. Whatever.
