Following up from Guido’s piece on the bullshit spin from No. 10 that jetting on the Royal Flight is cheaper than taking the Eurostar. A comment maker on Blairwatch cites National Audit Office research on the issue of cost for the Royal Flight.
Fixed costs:
BAe 146: 10,428 pounds per hour BAe 125: 4,662 pounds per hour
Variable costs: BAe 146: 1,213 pounds per hour BAe 125 622 pounds per hour
And what did they spin it as costing? A mere £100,000* spent on 110 flights in three years is all, was the spin from Beckett’s office, (Sir Michael White thought that most reasonable). Cheaper than a Ryanair special offer.
Guido is just so bored with the stupid lies the government expects taxpayers to swallow.
