No Respect for Separation of Party and State mdi-fullscreen
The Labour Party sent out emails in sync with Blair’s putsch on the Respect Solution, which looks to Guido like Giuliani’s Zero Tolerance policy dressed up in New-Labour-Speak. The Labour party website displays the Home Office logo with a link to the Home Office website. Slogans on the Labour party website appear on the government website – its hard to tell which is which. Surely this is in breach of the guidelines on party political campaigning by government?

It’s also a policy presented by the leader of the party and state with the presentational flourish of Mussolini. Illiberal policies, from an authoritarian government, illustrated by the leader in action, posing for the press scrubbing anti-social graffiti off the wall. In China they execute enemies of state for writing pro-democracy slogans on walls.

UPDATE: Others think North Korea’s Divine Leader, not Mussolini or Lee Kuan Yew, is the model for Blair. Guido thinks they may be wrong since relatively liberal North Korea only has 60 days detention without trial.
