Abramoff at St Andrews

Many have pointed out to Guido that there is a British, or rather Scottish, angle to the Abramoff scandal. Tom DeLay had dinner at St Andrews with a few Tartan Tories in 2000. The Washington Post and the Scotsman dubbed it “Tartangate”. Disgraced DeLay is said to have also met Thatcher in London. Much of the $120,000 trip was charged to Abramoff’s credit card. Its not exactly Watergate.

Quote of the Day

Paul Goodman as sagacious as ever on Arron’s entryism…

“… one must watch for former UKIP donors and a very few left-of-Party-centre MPs propping each other up, like drunks at the end of a pub crawl. It suits the former to claim the power to organise a programme of mass infiltration. It suits the latter to react by complaining about extremist entryism. The rest of us should keep a cool head.”
