Fatty Pollard has the revised paperback edition of his biography of Blunkett out today and the former Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Lord Stevens’s memoirs, are out as well. Britain’s top ex-cop told the News of the Screws that “Liar Blunkett tried to stab me in the back”. The common thread in the books is that Blunkett is a liar and briefs against his enemies ruthlessly in a way that would make Mandelson blush. But Blair brought him back, and according to some sources, will eventually re-shuffle him back to the Home Office. The sources admittedly are not a million miles away from Blunkett, but since Blair despairs of the Fat Controller Clarke, who knows?
