Christine Wheatley said when she was younger she worked as a tart in Paris. Her honesty cost her Jack Cunningham’s old seat in Copeland. It was the 1970s and she was “a delightful young woman around town,” she said. After she learned that she had been dropped, Ms Wheatley said: “Well I only had five minutes to make my presentation – I would have made a really good MP. What concern is my private life to the party?”

The oldest profession is an honest profession and she has nothing to be ashamed about – well apart from the fact that she is now a lawyer – now that is real whoring…
