Jonathan Sayeed, is “negligent in failing to exercise sufficient care to safeguard the reputation of parliament”, according to the Commons standards and privileges committee. “And at worst have acted carelessly, in a manner which has allowed that reputation to be injured.”

What reputation of parliament? Politicians rank lower than estate agents and used car salesman in the public’s affections. Sayeed will probably be suspended for taking tourists on paid for tours of parliament. Technically he didn’t take money for acting as a tour guide – a company he set-up with his assistant took the money.
