Thatcher took the time to write, by hand, individual letters to the families of fatal casulties in the Falklands. She visited the wounded and led a broadly united country bouyed with patriotic Falklands spirit. Blair? Well, Hoon once visited the wounded in Selly Oak in early 2003.
Whereas Thatcher had popular support, Blair fears being associated with the casulties of an unpopular war. Shame on him.
