Thatcher Pleads Guilty

Bet a lot of lefties loved the headline. Wrong Thatcher alas. Guido thinks it strange that the boy Mark is in trouble for attempting to overthrow a dictator with a terrible human rights record. If Tony Blair can do it, why can’t Mark Thatcher?

Mark of course was, as a Thatcherite, attempting to do it via the private sector and for profit. Under Queen Elizabeth I such privateers roamed the seas striking French and Spanish enemies of the Crown with the blessing of Her Majesty. We should be licensing these brave adventurers, so despots once again fear the sight of British ships manned by rough men.
