Keith Best, chief executive of the Immigration Advisory Service, has been in the papers and on this blog as a result of his comments about Blunkett (basically – he’s gotta go) knows what its like to be under the media cosh. As the former Tory MP for Anglesey in North Wales, he sat in parliament for eight years, disloyal to Margaret Thatcher, a dripping wet, he still took advantage of Thatcherism to the full. He went largely unnoticed until, in 1987, he resigned in disgrace following a fraudulent multiple application for shares in British Telecom. Guido thought he was just being doubly supportive of government policy.
Yes youngsters its shocking, but once upon a time there were Welsh Tory MPs.
Hat Tip to DM Andy for reminding me.
