Right Here, Right Now mdi-fullscreen
Anti-War protestor Fatboy Slim is not amused that he is powerless to stop the Labour Party using his ‘Right Here Right Now’ as their new rabble rousing election anthem. It was used to trumpet Blair’s arrival on stage at the Labour Party Conference and was booming out of their election bus up in Hartlepool, so it seems that Labour have taken ‘Right Here Right Now’ as an anthem.

Odd choice of music – Right Here? Right Now? Shouldn’t this be a Tory anthem? And the repetitive lyrics include the repeated refrain “Waking up to find your love’s not real”. Which is, I suppose, appropriate given how a lot of Labour MPs feel about Blair nowadays. Fatboy’s remix of Wildchild’s ‘Renegade Master’ methinks would be an even more appropriate choice.

The last politician to to borrow Fatboy Slim’s music used his ‘Praise You’ somewhat vainly. Democrat presidential hopeful Al Gore used it at every campaign stop in his doomed ’99 campaign.
