As well as cameras in fox country, ASBOs on estates, terror raids in Bradford, traffic cameras on the roads, ID cards in our wallets, DNA profiles in a computer and crackdowns on everything. He is speaking to the top cops today at the Police Superintendents’ Association. Don’t hold your breath for his new wheeze, a “Coppers’ Contract” to make the police more friendly and responsive to the public. I wonder if he might be better off getting them to focus on catching crooks?
