Tower Hamlet Tory! Respect beat Labour mdi-fullscreen
Dr Fox is very happy. The Tories have taken their first seat on Tower Hamlets borough council in 100 years when their candidate, Simon Rouse, won Millwall Ward on the Isle of Dogs. He scored a 20.6% net swing since the 2002 polls from Labour, which was pushed into a humiliating third place by Respect – rebel MP George Galloway’s anti-war leftwing coalition.

Maybe the yuppies in Canary Wharf got the vote out.
