Tom Watson’s deputy leadership campaign is now in full swing with Guido-funded ‘Tom for Deputy Leader” campaign literature hitting the carpets of Labour Party members across the country. Odd then that Watson once claimed that it was “right to call for the abolition of the post of deputy leader”.
Writing on his blog back in 2007, Watson argued that that the Labour party was ‘foolish’ not to abolish the the job of deputy leader as the 2007 deputy leader election was “dividing people who should remain united“.
What made the deputy leadership bookies favourite change his mind?
