Last Sunday Chuka thrust his hitherto secret girlfriend into the public eye, at best it was naive, at worst it was a cynical ploy. While Chuka is blaming the evil press for being mean, he might want to have a look at what the lefties have been up to. Namely their pushing of rumours about his sexuality…

On Wednesday the union funded propaganda blog Political Scrapbook amplified a minor mention of Chuka on a niche Tory website, making sure it was seen by Labour leadership watchers:

They even added the words: ‘nudge nudge, wink wink’. In criticising a ‘dog whistle attack’ they made sure it was seen by many, many more people…

And the disingenuous left have not stopped there. Today there was a very, very clunky tweet from Owen Jones:

I don't have Chuka's politics (at all) But really hope he hasn't been forced to withdraw for anything we shouldn't give a toss about in 2015

See what he did there? Chuka is from exactly the wing of the Labour Party that Owen wants to kill off. A kind word here, a double entendre there…
