Labour have helpfully dug out this video of Osborne critcising unfunded spending commitments just 12 weeks ago:

“making spending committments is the easiest thing in the world. Spending commitments are superficially attractive. They get ready applause from lobby groups. They get you headlines. But unfunded spending commitments are made with borrowed money and the price is paid by future taxpayers”.

A few weeks later and Osborne pledged £8 billion in unfunded NHS spending commitments…
