BBC Staff Told to Hide Badges in Public mdi-fullscreen

Security is being ramped up at the BBC after Newsnight and News at Ten broadcast the Charlie Hebdo cover depicting Mohammed. MediaGuido understands staff have been sent an email warning them to hide their BBC badges when out in public for fear they could be targeted in terrorist reprisals. Last week the BBC revised its guidelines banning images of Mohammed. “Security has been stepped up noticeably,” a Beeb source reveals. “We wouldn’t comment on security matters,” says a spokesman, “but the email you refer to makes clear that there’s no indication of any threat against the BBC”. Troubling times.
