The terrorists can come and go at will into Britain , they will probably start planting bombs and killing us
But hey , at least your hospital food will be quite nice

And if you are a breeder , you can now have 52 weeks off work , if you ever had a job in the first place
Our ancestors must be turning in their graves , after everything they did to give us freedoms and a great way of life , only to see it destroyed and pissed about with by politicians over the last 30 years

Some good chap posted previous thread. Reposting with appropriate interpretation:

There does exist dysfunction between EUCO and member State governments which has caused friction at the citizen level. The immigration issues across Eurozone are tied to that.

The EU has made good advances in dealing with child trafficking / prostitution rings where they exist in and across most member States but that has not been achieved by de-facto decriminalizing the matter and ignoring it.

Contravening Human Rights legislation is perhaps the poorest excuse yet.

No, the trafficking existed before the borders were opened.

Initially when the border controls were relaxed it did help, but that advantage has been broadly neutralized by E’uropol now.

The UK is not a transit country but is a known endpoint country. As UK is not part of the S’chengen zone the border argument you outline strictly does not apply in the UK.

The trafficking which was highlighted in the R’otherham report relates to UK domestic – a problem that has been highlighted for years by the US State Depts reports also.

However, the dysfunction between member States and EUCO has led to gaps forming where EU policy is not being implemented properly, sometimes subverting domestic laws and practices. This is a very stupid situation in part caused by EUCO allowing itself to become politicized and absence of political Union at the member State level which has led to resistance from member State institutions in following EUCO’s lead.

This is obvious in some member States, UK being one, but is not a valid or reasonable explanation for what has happened in R’otherham and elsewhere.

The prime example of this is in matters of immigration and settlement of people. The camps in C’alais are a very good example, as is the issue of illegal immigration.

Cecilia Malmström is commissioner with direct responsibility. But you can see here where certain other agenda’s have confused the issue – in particular gender politics / feminist activism.

Labour cannot use Europe as the excuse here, unless they are admitting that they did this in order to ‘rebel’ against direction from B’russel’s which does not stand the credibility test given their position on continued EU membership.

R’otherham is totally distinct from the EU in/out debate.

One is expecting the next straw-man excuse to flow from Labour to be related to H’ealth and S’afety, in order to deflect attention from their policies which did directly and deliberately engineer this situation.

The deflation will be being driven by R’ussia’s counter-sanctions acting on top of austerity.

By banning EU food imports this will result in overproduction and supply in Europe leading to price drops: That is deflation – Can already be seen in dairy.

This is a problem for Europe as agricultural subsidies are currently quite high in order to keep Eurozone production economic at the current scale.

Economic ‘logic’ would see subsidies maybe preserved but overall production reduced, however in order to counteract deflation the scale of production reduction would likely lead to recession in certain member States (eg. F’rance) and a fresh rounds of civil unrest.

It certainly would place a strain on the Union, particularly in the agricultural East (except for P’oland) which will see R’ussia as a preferable market.

Flip side is that food security is a major problem now in R’ussia. That R’ussian’s can live on a diet of potato’s if their government decide is an old meme, but the recent potato export agreement signed with B’elarus suggests that this may become a reality next year – at least for those who do not have a D’acha.

Problem in Europe remains lack of consumer demand and inability to compete on price with Ch!na / too much productive capacity.

The long term commercial failure of the A380 provides a symbolic encapsulation of these E’uropean problems in one.

Not entirely. The reasoning is not obvious.

As all production is very heavily dependent on subsidy at present to remain economic, reducing the subsidies would have the effect of making production un-economic which would put at risk E’uropean food security as a whole.

Cutting production and then maybe looking to rebalance by reducing subsidies is the only path out if deflation is to be kept to a minimum.

Reducing subsidies needs to be handled carefully as the effect will be felt most negatively at production and positively at consumption, where negative and positive in this case means cut in profit vs. increase in price. The price increase would be more to maintain stability in this case.

It will be impossible to avoid deflationary effects in the short to medium term.

Another dimension to the problem is that E’uropean food production is centrally managed across the Eurozone. This may lead to decisions being made which are perfectly rational at the European level, but from a member State perspective may appear discriminatory and would lead to civil unrest / weakening of the Union.

Not completely correct. The newer design ‘hoovers’ such as those designed by James Dyson rely on centrifugal filters to separate the debris from the air stream, and very efficient they are.

However, more energy is required to make the centrifuges work without loss of air velocity. (It is velocity that moves the debris, not suction). If you compare the specifications for these types of sweepers with those of the bag collector variety you will find the former are generally higher powered than the latter. You don’t get something for nothing.

This EU dictat reducing the power of ‘hoovers’ to 1.8kW now & lower in the long term, is more to do with protecting the mainline European manufacturers from novel design created in the UK.

Press conference with Poroshenko / Barroso just finished in Brussels.

    Message from Poroshenko :

‘We are looking for peace, we are not looking for war.’

Content with non-lethal military assistance at present and hopeful that progress can be demonstrated with peace process next week as the reality is that:

‘We are too close to the border where there is no return for the peace plan.’

Ukraine does not want to be part of the spark for re-igniting war in Europe.

    Message from Barroso:

Russian aggression towards Europe makes no strategic sense. Sanctions / Restrictive measures are not an end in themselves.

‘We urge them [Russian Leadership] to come to reason.’

EUCO expects member State governments to follow their advice and implement measures accordingly, however, EUCO itself cannot dictate the actions of member State governments.

Sanctions / Restrictive measures are a response to a situation Europe does not want, not tools of escalation.

By the spring there wont be a tree left standing in Ukraine or any furniture for that matter.

They should start by burning that fat bastard ‘Porky’ Poroshenko. He should generate a good few Kilowatts of heat.

Of course Ukraine could ask the EU for a $250 billion loan to pay off all their debts to mother Russia.

But then pigs might fly :-)

If Russia cuts off gas there may not be many trees left between the Donbass and Par!s as this winter is likely to be cold.

A loan tranche is being extended to Ukraine to deal with the debt and EU has encouraged Ukraine to pay this, which Ukraine wishes to do. However, within reason.

The $100 dollar discount that Russia offered the other day was turned down because the starting $485 price (per 1000 cubic meters) is not considered either free or fair.

One should note carefully that the EU is now using the term ‘aggression’ to describe R’ussia’s actions. Under international law this is significant as it alludes to UN Res 3314 which indicates that there is international responsibility.

Russia is on a one way path now so they are locked for further escalation and mobilization. They will need to try and get this finished before October which is when their next conscript rotation is due.

The balance of air power for Ukraine is the weak link at the moment and may see European State / NATO intervention to balance. To speed the advance across Ukraine P’utin will need to launch a bombing campaign. That may commence sooner if his strategy to establish a land bridge with Cr!mea through M’ariupol is delayed, but it will happen.

          • You can cross check all of the above (expect my speculation about deforestation) from Russian State media (as well as some Western).

The suggested strategy that P’utin may adopt can be deduced from knowing the timelines he is constrained by (winter approaching being a factor) and noticing that Russian anti-aircraft defences have been heavily deployed along the border and within Ukraine itself. That includes S300 as well as BuK etc.

            (Recall MH17.)

Control of the air is Ukraine’s biggest weakness at present. P’oland in particular is looking ever more willing to intervene on Ukraine’s side. NATO air support to balance that force may well be on the cards.

RT is Ok to watch, but would recommend looking at the rest of the R’ussian media to get the fuller picture of what is going on. They are not hiding it any more – except from the families of the service men who are returning dead.

That incidentally is another dynamic which is now putting pressure on P’utin to end this fast in a frozen conflict in Russia’s favour, or to formally declare war and win.

The political reality in the K’remlin now is that P’utin cannot back down or de-escalate. P’utin seems comfortable with this position, so long as he does not find a direct confrontation with NATO.

I believe that once you take into account infrastructure and hidden costs (e.g. additional costs of educating children of migrants to speak English) there is absolutely no benefit in immigration. Extending in infrastructure in London is always an incredibly expensive task.

The very sad thing is that there isn’t a single politician – not even in Farage – who really has a serious plan on how to tackle this.

We need to get out of the EU, enforce border control, resile from the Refugee and Human Rights treaties, stop UK marriages to people from abroad aged under 25, put severe cultural tests on migrants (mastery of English language, acceptance of our general values), put in place earned universal benefit for our citizens (i.e. you may receive the benefit after five years of working – this will make our citizens competitive in wages with people from abroad), raise the minimum wage to living wage levels, introduce a properly policed guest worker system (with guarantee bonds), shut down the Sharia system of law and education, and deport all people with dual citizenship whose actions show they do not support our value system (e.g. people supporting Jihadi terrorism, working for Sharia to be introduced etc, people involved in ).

We need also to put in place a system of referendum democracy to ensure never again can such mass political and cultural changes be imposed on the British people without their consent.

    Fishy says:

There were a couple of interviews on the Toady programme this morning that gives a clue to what was happening at Rotherham, Rochdale and all over the UK where vulnerable girls were being trafficked around the country.

A former Greater Manchester policewoman set the scene by telling of her incredulity that investigations were being halted despite the police knowing the names of the huge number of perps and having the evidence to arrest and bring charges.

The second interview with Blunket was interesting in that he started to point the finger at the CPS, whose head, Labour’s Starmer was interviewed earlier in the week and responded wringing his hand without a single mention of ethnicity. Blunket went on to suggest that there was a link between the inaction by the authorities and a reaction to the 2001 riots in Bradford and Oldham.

The more this goes on the more it seems that the Labour Govt of the day ordered a blind eye to be turned to this criminality for their own purposes and their own benefit.

As for the Asian community, lets call it correctly, the overwhelming majority of those from that community are members of the religion of peace. That community with its self appointed leaders and foreign Im__ams has done little or nothing to report those responsible to the authorities. Let’s not go into how poorly the relevant authorities have been in handling this. As such that particular part of the Asian community needs to get its house in order very quickly.

The latest Washington lie, this one coming from NATO, is that Russia has invaded Ukraine with 1,000 troops and self-propelled artillery.

How do we know that this is a lie? Is it because we have heard nothing but lies about Russia from NATO, from US ambassador to the UN Samantha Power, from assistant secretary of state Victoria Nuland, from Obama and his entire regime of pathological liars, and from the British, German, and French governments along with the BBC and the entirety of the Western media?

This, of course, is a good reason for knowing that the latest Western propaganda is a lie. Those who are pathological liars don’t suddenly start telling the truth.

But there are even better reasons for understanding that Russia has not invaded Ukraine with 1,000 troops.

One reason is that Putin has invested heavily in diplomacy backed by unprovocative behavior. He would not risk his bet on diplomacy by sending in troops too few in number to have a decisive effect on the outcome.

Another reason is that if Putin decides he has no alternative to sending the Russian military to protect the Russian residents in eastern and southern Ukraine, Putin will send in enough troops to do the job quickly as he did in Georgia when the American and Israeli trained Georgian army invaded South Ossetia and was destroyed in a few hours by the Russian response. If you hear that 100,000 Russian troops accompanied by air cover have invaded Ukraine, it would be a more believable claim.

A third reason is that the Russian military does not need to send troops into Ukraine in order to stop the bombing and artillery shelling of the Russian populations by Washington’s puppet government in Kiev. The Russian air force can easily and quickly destroy the Ukrainian air force and artillery and, thereby, stop the Ukrainian attack on the secessionist provinces.

It was only two weeks ago that a fabricated report spread by the UK Guardian and the BBC that a Russian armored convoy entered Ukraine and was destroyed by the Ukrainian Military. And two weeks prior to that we had the hoax of the satellite images allegedly released by the US State Department that the corrupt US ambassador in Kiev spread around the world on social media allegedly showing that Russian forces were firing into Ukraine. One or two weeks from now we will have another lie, and another a week or two after that, and so on.

KSA cannot explicitly say they do not support !slamism as that would re-ignite support fully within the Kingdom and cause revolution, but they certainly do not support it.

But the !slamist revolt has already started in KSA. They may have to change direction soon.

But although Gove’s DfE was taking action, in the Trojan Horse scandal, what on earth were the likes of Cameron and Co doing?

Warsi had been Shadow Minister for Community Cohesian from 2007-2010, before the coalition took over government. Then, the first Moslem woman cabinet minister from 2010-2014 (holding the post of Minister of Faith and Communities during the last half of that period),.

She would have known several years ago what was going on, if not right from the start, given her place in the so-called heritage community..

So what did Cameron/Warsi or other Conservatives — apart from Gove/DfE — do?

But, to add to the general argument, the modern method of politics was created by Blair, Campbell, Mandelson et al. The Tories decided they could not beat them so they joined them – precisely when Blair had become discredited. But nowadays, the Tories don’t think too fast on their feet.

The LibDems are clearly opportunists without a streak of morality so they have lost the women’s vote in all probability which is deserved.

So in apportioning blame, Labour must bear the biggest share for creating the unhappy mould of “Things can only get better”.

The Conservatives are now merely derivative. Therefore none of the three traditional parties deserves any support.

          • No Anonymong! This will not do.

The last thing I want to do is to make excuses for a Tory party which I no longer support. But the political system has become so deadlocked, for much of that you can blame the LibDems (just look at the Rennard fiasco to name one of so many), that this illustrates exactly why such situation must be broken.

The politicians are soft-Marxist (even many Tories), the councils are, the police are, the civil service is in these parts. Every part of civic life is awash with it.

Have you ever been there? If not you could have no idea. Not only have I been there for some years but I ran a large business from that very town.

Many of the people are charming and law abiding. So what those who get into positions of control have done is doubly evil. They have pulled the wool over their locals’ eyes.

In May, UKIP took seven council seats from Labour, two from the Conservatives and held a seat it won in a by-election last year. Nine seats gained!

National government only provide a framework for local government. They cannot possibly look into every aspect of every matter that councils manage – unless something bad comes to light. The fact that something does not come to light because the police are actually conspiring with the maladministration makes the situation much more difficult to uncover.

Presumably that does not worry you? It should do…

Now that it has come to light and we can see more clearly what has been done in our name since 1997, similar situations can be investigated and the culprits made to answer for their acts.

However, we have already seen the BBC get off Scot free over the Savile atrocities. Remember, they were the main procurement agency!

Where are the raids? The arrests? The investigations? The charges? The trials? The convictions? Not a murmur…

Not a good omen for investigating Rotherham. What do the council there do? Award themselves police protection, something they did not try to offer ten year old children…

Disgusting of them. Disgusting also to attempt to hose this off Labour. Hang your head in shame.

You are VERY naive. Central government receives information in all sorts of ways, not just through local government. They will be getting info coming in from their own offices e.g. job centres, NHS centres, MI5, Special Branch, Probation etc.

It is clear to me that central government was decisive in instigating the current wave of prosecutions and inquiries.

The reason? Because in the early 2000s, the BN’P’s vote was increasing. Central government took fright and looked at the reasons why and found that the issue of grooming of girls was one cause. So it was decided to take action.

But they always knew this was an issue, because central government is very well informed.

Moscow blames Ukraine for the disaster, in which all 298 passengers and crew were killed. In a version of events widely believed in the West, Ukraine says the Boeing 777 was shot down by pro-Russian separatists with a surface-to-air missile.

Blunkett may have a valid excuse that he did not ‘see’ what was happening (not meant as a snark, but it would be easier to conceal stuff from a blind guy) but Labour itself must have been aware. Denial is incredible given the geographical scope and timescale involved.

That has been in play for a while now.

Missile bases not so much – NMD was cancelled for good reason. Manned bases with tanks, aircraft etc. yes. Check out B’reedlove and NATO blog for some detail – ignore M’erkels divisive two-tier rhetoric.

Problem with NATO tanks out east: They are too wide for Soviet built bridges. Odd strategic feature left over from the cold war which when it comes to mobilized forces gives Russia a slight advantage.

The tanks have all been scrapped , the British army is down from about 1200 to about 150 ,the artillery is no more ,the whole of the three services could fit comfortably into Twickenham , Dave’s slavish obedience to the EU ensured that .
In any case why should we go to war with Russia ,they are now our one potential ally against the Brussels communists .

In a busy uncaring soulless ward of the NHS or on a gentle warm beach on the Spanish Med? I know which I’d choose having spent more than 20 years on and off on the Spanish Med. And why does the UK social services and police think they have the right to dictate this end of life choice? There is something very evil and wicked about this European Arrest Warrant!!

And if the UK government is daft enough to take on their debt share because we won’t let them use the pound, then they will be even richer…

Tourism does not make a booming economy. It makes a few a few bob.

Natural resources?..not much. They ran out of coal and were relocating miners into England years before Scargill. Loads of granite but hardly fortune making. Oil in the North sea running Low, Atlantic Oil needs big bucks to exploit. Too far from the English cities for efficient Electricty supplies from wind and tde due to transmission losses.

Land is only worth what people will pay and to rub it in most of it is owned by the English gentry anyway.

So the £800million pounds, HV DC cable from the Scots windmills on the West coast, that’s being installed now, from Scotland to Flint power station is a waste of time, due to transmission loses, wrong, the 250mile or whatever the distance it was decided that if they ran HVAC the transmission loses would be more than a HVDC cable routed down the Irish sea, all the works on land has been finished and they are now waiting for the cable to be landed.

            BS.

Look up the figures. Tourism to Scotland was worth over £3billion in 2013. About £500 per person. Using the multiplier effect that clearly is a major contribution to the Scottish economy. It is also hugely helpful to balance of payments.

N Sea oil running low? £12 billion a year…it won’t last forever but it will be a major contribution to the economy for decades to come.

On land, which way do you think technology is taking us: is it becoming harder and harder to exploit land in northern climes or easier and easier?

Wind and wave energy will become increasingly important.

            As for electricity transmission:

“As of 1980, the longest cost-effective distance for direct-current transmission was determined to be 7,000 km (4,300 mi). For alternating current it was 4,000 km (2,500 mi), though all transmission lines in use today are substantially shorter than this.”(Wikipedia)

Tip to toe the island Britain is only about 800 miles. The distance from prime wind areas in Scotland to major population centres in England is probably about 400-500 miles max.

The Scottish can tax the English gentry out of the country if they wish.

And whisky sales are over £4 billion.

Once Scotland has control of its economy it can follow a more Scandinavian path in developing a successful society.

No transmission losses are far less in DC systems BUT and it is massive but DC transmission costs fortune and is technically much more difficult compared to AC distribution which can easily be transformed into Very high voltages to cut down on the size of conductors. Has the high cost of this DC system been priced into the equation?

Because of the power loss associated with this north to south flow, the effectiveness and efficiency of new generation capacity is significantly affected by its location. For example new generating capacity on the south coast has about 12% greater effectiveness due to reduced transmission system power losses compared to new generating capacity in north England, and about 20% greater effectiveness than northern Scotland.[12]
