          • It would be better if the UK public were calmly asked, a political consensus formed here and then life progressed in a natural direction.

UKIP are positioned such that if the UK decides to remain in they will be able to maintain good relations with the Federation, and also work the right way to help it reform.

If the UK decides to exit – likewise.

For Federation to work properly one needs the power to flow from the people to the top. If you reverse that flow you end up with R’ussia.

Fleshy Dave looking like more like a loser with every passing day. Let’s not forget he could not beat McMental outright last time and all he’s done since then is follow the same EU Corporatist/Fderal agenda. He’s not reduced the size of the state, nor the increasing intervention of the state in individuals lifes. He is reluctant to say the least to contemplate any kind of relationship with Europe that is not part of the EU.

He in short has really little faith in the nation known as Britain and the ability of ordinary voters to make choices that are binding on their elected representatives.
Millibean is a danger but to be honest if the only way to get the Conservative party back on track might be 18months of a Labour minority government over 2015-16 then its a price worth paying. If we have some UKIP MP then I think there will be real change in the Conservative party pretty quick.
      We’ll soon see.

The conservatives have been out in force doing the rounds and everyone of them have read the exact same script. Are they incapable of offering an opinion about Carswell without the robotic rhetoric? These people are running the country yet they follow a script to the letter without the slightest deviation. It looks pathetic.

Larry the cat should be earning his keep right now, until Nigel moves in.

Dave should focus on burying Labour over R’otherham etc. and allow his own party to heal. Coalition with UKIP one way or another next year is what the Cons should aim for.

Russian troops are fighting in places that were geographically part of Russia until the 1950s when they were moved into another Soviet State. The people there largely want to be Russian and there is a case for saying Putin is simply protecting them like Thatcher protected the Falklanders. I know that’s not a perfect analogy and I can see both sides’ cases but to suggest this marks the start of Russian tanks rolling into Europe is absurd.

          Liked by 1 person

          • Not really.

The last time R’ussian tanks rolled west they did not stop until well into Europe and then stayed there for about 45 years.

U’kraine is different to the F’alkland Islands.

The F’alkland’s were invaded by A’rgentina.

If the UK had decided to invade say !ndia and take back that country on the argument that the UK had colonized it for a few hundred years then your comparison is valid.

As that is not what happened, and the F’alklands situation is different, your comparison is invalid.

“Was there a particular problem specific to Rotherham? Did Labour’s total dominance of this authority allow a complacent, rotten culture to develop? Was the political opposition so enfeebled that effective challenge to the leadership was striking by its absence?”

“Social workers report to safeguarding managers, child protection co-ordinators, directors of services, and chief executives. All overseen by 63 elected councillors.

Such a complex web of relationships. So many different chains of command – making true accountability very hard to establish.”

He is now making out he is such an honourable man because he is going to step down and cause an expensive By Election nine months befor a General Election.

He did not even have the common decency to inform David Cameron in advance of his intentions and was quite happy to announce it (smirking with Farage) on live TV.

Rob Colvile reviews Russell Brand’s new book:

“Oddly, the person I feel sorriest for isn’t Brand himself – although he certainly comes across as a rather pitiable figure, projecting his own brokenness on to the world around him – but Johann Hari. Drummed out of Fleet Street for plagiarism, the former Independent columnist has washed up as “my mate Johann, who’s been doing research for this book”. For a genuinely talented polemicist, it would have been a humbling experience to have to treat this sub-undergraduate dross as the scintillating wisdom of a philosopher-king.”

Mycroft says:

Have you read the last bit of Animal Farm?

You know where the animals are looking through the Farmhouse window?

My TV screen was that window at lunch-time today.

Be careful, the sudden self-congratulatory tone, the slightly pudgy outline of indulgence and you become exactly what you should despise.

The jolly face of the Quisling Cameron poses for your camera has mesmerised and deceived you, you who were once not so deceived.

You were no firebrand, you were a damp squib in my opinion, sorry.

You need a damned good kick up the ahse!
