Cllr Paul Lakin’s Outside Interests (In Children’s Services)

Labour’s Paul Lakin has been a councillor in Rotherham for a decade, rising to the heady ranks of Deputy Leader.

Not only does he still have a job in Rotherham as Cabinet member for Children, Young People and Families Services, according to his Register of Interests, he is also on the Local Government Association’s Young People’s Board.

He is also Yorkshire and Humber’s Lead Member of the Children’s Service Network.

And don’t forget the member of Rotherham Safeguarding Children’s Board.

Shameless.

      Suspend council tax payments

      Council residents should feel morally within their rights to serve notice they will suspend tax payments until Wright, Thacker, Lakin and certain colleagues are removed.

      They could make clear they would resume payments, including back payment, when this has been done.

      The council would be legally entitled to prosecute in the meantime, but I doubt they’d dare.

        The Councils are our enemies says:

        Remember they days when Councils were on the side of the residents…taking small amounts of rates to provide basic services such as refuse collection and keeping the roads in order and streetlights on and parks nice and green.

        Now they are the unaccountable enforcers of political correctness on eyewatering wages…the wheelie bin stasi who dictate what rubbish they want to collect…the electoral register fanatics who threaten you if you don’t fill in every form…brutally charging council tax rates far in excess of monthly mortgage payments…just so common purpose drones and party political placemen/women get to interfere with our lives…except when it would be politically incorrect of them to intervene such as in Rotherham and a myriad other locations. This is only the tip of the festering iceberg!

        The Great British public have been cowed into silence by these common purpose types and their BBC/Grauniad comrades for long enough…these scandals are bringing to the fore just how rotten this country has become….and somethings gotta give.

        But what will be done about it?

        A scapegoat will be thrown to the wolves — it’s looking like it’ll be Shaun Wright — and then everybody else will carry on as before. Nothing else will be done. No doubt, ministers will talk about imposing a tough new regulatory oversight. Maybe they’ll even pass a new law telling everybody not to ignore the old laws. Everybody will agree readily that this sort of thing must never be allowed to happen again. But what will actually be done? Fuck all. Absolutely sweet fuck all.

        In a few months, maybe a year or two, there will be a new children’s services failure. A new Baby P, a new Victoria Climbie, a new child-trafficking scandal, and we’ll do it all again.

        Ed Balls has actually got a point there .

        He sacked that woman children s chief in Harringey or wherever .

        She promptly went to Lefty UK judicial system who found Balls to be in the wrong and immediately awarded her some half a million compo . Retire blissfully to write books etc — or possibly be appointed to a similar job by an equally deranged different council at probably a higher salary.

        This society has got itself so enmeshed in a spider s web of political correctness , human rights and misplaced social/legal entitlements over last twenty years that no Govt. can make a decision without it being brought into query via the judicial system under some recently enacted citizen s charter that makes a complete mockery of the final arbiter of Cabinet as the country s governance fulcrum.

        Why have elections or indeed politicians when their decisions in govt. are subject to UK and EUSSR judicial scrutiny and possible revocation !!?

        Just let the various judicial forums run us and save both money and 5 yearly elections.!!!

          She was Shadow Minister for Community Cohesian 2007-2010 and Minister of Faith and Communities 2012-2014, and became Britain’s first Muslim cabinet minister between those roles.

          She should:

          1) surely have known, as both a politician and member of that “heritage” community, what was going on;
          2) have pushed strenuously for action to address it, while Shadow Minister for Community Cohesian;
          3) have used her position while minister without portfolio 2010-2012 — and simultaneously co-chairman of the Conservative Party– to build on her opposition shadow role and pursue policy to cleanse and reform “the system”
          4) used her appointment as Minister of Faith and Communities, to bed down such reform across the nation and ensure such exploitation could not resume.

    There was born political correctness and the race relations industry.

    ” The efforts of the Times to stand up this investigation are certainly considerable: selectively quoting or misquoting some groups, and inventing a category of “on-street grooming” that does not exist in law and was not recognised by any of the agencies I spoke to. It is also worth asking how responsible it is to provide ammunition to the violent racist extremists already active in these areas on such flawed evidence. ”

    In 2010 the police searched for 10,000 children missing from care homes or foster care. By their records 800 were still missing, Hansard reported only 80. Police checks on actual figures could not be made because the care homes hid behind the confidentiality of care legislation.

    Safeguarding legislation requires that authorities and agencies are merely well coordinated. It does not demand effectiveness or apportion blame.
