It’s Official: Guido is a Feminist

Guido was tickled this morning by the words of Andrew Speed, the chairman of Bury St Edmunds Conservative Association, who has dismissed critics of David Ruffley as “minority feminist groups”. Guido has always believed that this is a minority feminist blog…

That said, you have to wonder what Refuge, the country’s leading domestic violence charity, think about being labelled “minority feminists”. Not to mention the growing number of Westminster staffers up in arms. Let alone the members of Ruffley’s own local party who are increasingly losing patience with their MP…

  5. 5
    therealjimmy says:

Guido – feminism is based on the idea of men and women being equal.

Not political equality or legal equality – both decided decades ago. But real out and out equality – ie it is based on a biological falsehood and something impossible. That is the reason there has never been a serious feminist intellectual except perhaps Paglia. That’s the reason that feminism today is laurie penny, jessica valenti and the rest getting angry because someone buys his daughter a pink toy.

Might be worth noting how much Erin Pizzey who founded the organisation that became refuge has spoken out against the evils of modern feminism.

You sure you want to align yourself with the twitter campaigners and student activists who read the guardian? They make a lot of noise, the screaming banshees, but they number much lower in the population as most women are happy to be feminine. Most politicians are scared stiff of them as a re many companies – you should stand up to them.

Just out of interest – when a man is cautioned does he get a jury trial?

He gets a trial in the “Court of Public Opinion”.

(I have no idea what that means, but it sounded good when I coined the phrase on the Andrew Marr show)

But not for long, if the jocks vote “yes”

  10. 10
    Maqboul says:

No, the police caution is an alternative to a prosecution so there is no trial at all. It’s a bit like paying a parking ticket in which you admit your guilt and accept the offered sanction rather than going through the courts.

Ruffley now has a criminal record but I suspect he was hoping to avoid the publicity had he gone through the courts.

    It means mob rule.

  12. 12
    Birmingham City Council says:

We believe we are minority feminists too (well, mostly women and are majority minority anyway) and as the good book (Quran) says, “it is better to beat one’s wife than one’s Mistress!”

    Peace be upon you!

  13. 13

    God bless feminists

  14. 14
The Court of Public Opinion says:

The left shoot messengers, the right just label them ?

    Political Correctness gone floppy.

The pressure must now be on for H’arry to get in drag and doorstep this monster, and Bury him in St Edmunds once and for all.

    That’ll teach him.

    Vote UKIP :-D

  16. 16
    Fishy says:

No coincidence that Mrs Balls jumped on the Domestic Violence bandwagon this morning in a car crash interview on the Toady programme.

Utterly pathetic, her whiny voice, complaining that people are getting away with a telling off, but it became clear that she didn’t know what she was talking about when it emerged that it was only a tiny amount of trivial cases that were dealt with in this way. Completely exposed by the stats she was left saying something along the line of well I know someone who knew someone who didn’t get justice.

    Pathetic bandwagoning.

    Twampersand mk II says:

No, he forgoes the need for a trial by admitting, in writing, his guilt, accepting that an offence has been committed and in return receives an official ‘ticking off’.

The only reason you would accept a caution would be if you had committed the crime and there was overwhelming evidence against you. Ruffey probably got cautioned instead of full-blown prosecuted because of his position.

  26. 26
    Fishy says:

Now my great plan for ‘People’s Questions’ in the Houtheth of Parliament has gone down so well, Mr Maqboul has given me my next big idea…..

    People’s Courts

When I become Prime Minister, I will set up a network of Peoples Courts led by a local party official, a workers’ representative and a specially chosen peasant who will pass judgements on behalf of the people.

They will have sentencing powers and will be able to send people to work in the Cheshire Salt Mines for up to 20 years. Any death sentences that they pass will be reserved for Conservatives, bankers, captains of industry, energy company managers or media barons.

Mmmm. Daddy will be so proud of me as will Uncle Eric Hobsbawm

One hopes that it’s a joke as anyone with a sane, intelligent mind would be dead against that HATE movement as it denigrates all men while denying that women do anything wrong. They are always victims, ya know!

Why is it that the real story is NEVER released about what that female did to provoke a well placed smacking. Once again, it can NEVER be the woman’s fault. They are still the only victim, ya know. Ask any delusional hate-mongering, feminastie.

Alan Milburn says Labour’s scaremongering campaign for an unreformed NHS will not win election…

“It would be a fatal mistake, in my view, for Labour to go into this election looking as though it is the party that would better resource the National Health Service but not necessarily put its foot to the floor when it comes to reforming. Look, reforms are not easy, but the Labour Party is not a conservative party. It should be about moving things forward not preserving them in aspic. You have got a pale imitation actually of the 1992 general election campaign, and maybe it will have the same outcome. I don’t know.”
