SPEAKER WATCH: Runners and Riders for Clerk of the House

The decision on the new Clerk is expected soon. It’s down to three candidates: two women and the next-senior clerk David Natzler.

The pale male is the egregiously superior candidate. Natzler is qualified in procedure, experienced in the intricacies and mysteries of the House. His main liability? Apart from the most unfortunate name in the parliamentary manifest, he’s an old Etonian.

The Speaker has stacked the selection panel to put his preferred candidate in. Speaker Watch believes this to be one Carol Mills, an Australian, currently the parliamentary Head of Administration in Canberra.

However, the House wants Natzler and that may force the Speaker’s hand.

    Ed Moribund says:

Why doesn’t the House just sack the squeaky Hunt? Well within its rights to do so and well within its powers. Nobody likes him.

  2. 2

    Why is Clerk pronounced Clarke?

Simply gathering data, even if it was never consulted, could potentially curb privacy because too few states put good limits on who could look at the data and what it could be used for

Do we have limits on who can look at this data and what it can be used for?

The government have tried to sell it as terrorism or serious crime.

But what if 10 years from now commenting anonymously on a blog is considered terrorism and calling the PM a c unt a serious crime?

Had to laugh at English Muppet interviewed on RT News (hint to RT news, if you’re going to try to make out the plane crash was faked or staged NOT a good idea to use evidence that you yourselves were showing the day before) who was hinting that things don’t look right.

He suggested that the photo of all the Passports was ‘suspicious’ yet RT news actually showed one of the so called rebels collecting them from the bodies yesterday and the REASON so many looked new was when they were opened up they were either kids or very young people.

RT need to take some lessons on how to dress up lies, the BBC are masters at it.

It’s sweeping through London via big charities.

  31. 31

That’s the point. Also both the potential users and uses for accessing the data are far too broad and the Bill gives the Minister the power to extend it with little or no parliamentary scrutiny.

    “an old Etonian”
Faint praise indeed. If one challenges the ideology of conditioning our young to think as a, devised by the fallible, system dictates. As opposed to simply thinking about everything. For the former functions entirely counter to the laws of reality. In that whatever is incapable of evolving, intellectually as well as physically, is doomed to inevitable extinction.

Boris on British Jihadis. Apparently based on MI5 intel:

“If you look at all the psychological profiling about bombers, they typically will look at porn. They are literally w***ers. Severe onanists. They are tortured. They will be very badly adjusted in their relations with women, and that is a symptom of their feeling of being failures and that the world is against them. They are not making it with girls, and so they turn to other forms of spiritual comfort — which of course is no comfort.”
