Global cities like New York, Paris and Tokyo don’t rely on one airport for their travel needs. They spread capacity through a network of airports to make flying more convenient for passengers and ensure the country doesn’t have all of its eggs in one basket. Expansion at Gatwick would ease the pressure Heathrow is under and ensure that London, and Britain, remains competitive in the world market.

It would also give passengers more choice. Competition between UK airports has benefitted us all with better service and lower fares. A third runway at Heathrow would simply reinstate a monopoly but expansion at Gatwick would increase competition between airports, and ensure that the future of air travel is better for everyone. Find out why Gatwick is the obvious choice for the UK’s next runway here
