WATCH: Dave: Juncker is the Wrong Man

“It is the wrong person. Jean-Claude Juncker has been at the heart of the project to increase the power of Brussels and reduce the power of nation states for his entire working life. He’s not the right person to take this organisation forward. I’m very clear about the right thing to do. I know the odds are stacked against me but that doesn’t mean you change your mind, it means you stand up for what you believe and you vote accordingly.”

Going down fighting…

  1. 1
    Neil Down says:

Juncker’s not the wrong man to run the EU. We’re the wrong country to be in it. Since we’re never going to accept federalism and the EU will never be about anything else, we should leave.

  2. 2
    Vote Cameron get Brussels says:

And Cameron knows that…He is just playing to the gallery.

  3. 3

Juncker is exactly the man to run the EU, after all he was PM of a country with no armed forces , no industry except dodgy banking and a little tourism , and with a population hardly larger than some of the bigger London Boroughs.

    Angela, Frankie and Co. says:

Just who is that weak little shit who keeps chirping in the corner over there?

Tell him to shut up and do what he’s told.

  6. 6
    Quickie Mart says:

    EU Who’s Who $1.95

  7. 7
    Gordon of Khartoum says:

So when Cameron could have stood up to something, and didn’t, we’re bigots for expecting better; but now he’s picked a fight he could never win we are expected to lionise him? going down posturing to his right flank more like, because only numpties like Hannan and Carswell would be fooled by this kind of stunt.

  8. 8
    Anonymous says:

The Prime Minister should remind Europe it is not the first time and certainly will not be the last time we stand alone against the forces of darkness in Europe

  9. 9
    Back to basics says:

    Well said.

Thank goodness we don’t have Bliar/Brown/Millibland there to simply fall into line yet again with what ever Brussels spouts

  10. 10
    Mycroft says:

    Spot on.

  11. 11
    Gary Elsby Stoke-on-Trent says:

Have you ever thought about managing the England football team Dave?

  12. 12
    Long John Silver's parrot says:

half a league, half a league, onwards all……..

  13. 13
    MartinWW says:

Who, then, Prime Minister, is your choice of federalist president? For that is the only type on offer.
Cameron’s ridiculous stance is presumably a futile attempt to make some people believe he opposes what the EU and its ghastly machine stands for. Well, we know better. He is an out-and-out (or rather than In-and-In) Europhile. and an unprincipled opportunist.

  14. 14
    Grammar School Boy says:

The right decision is not always popular, however the popular decision is not always right…stick at it Dave.

  15. 15

The Eurocrats want to keep Juncker as it will keep the troughs open for longer. Anyone with a brain would see that it is wrong to move power further away from the people.

  16. 16
    Gary Elsby Stoke-on-Trent says:

    British values:

If someone is democratically selected/elected by everyone and we don’t like the result, it therefore should not stand.

    European democratic values:
    Winner wins and loser dies.

    The Great British public’s values:
    Europe 1, Dave’s Tories 0:-)

  17. 17
    British Bastard says:

    Spot on!

The EU is a federal shit-hole, and we Brits don’t do federal shit-holes.

  18. 18
    The general public says:

Of-course, had Juncket, sorry Juncker been politically more of Cameron’s liking then there would have been no outrage at the undemocratic way he is being “elected”.

    Politics eh…..!

  19. 19
    Hamlet says:

To be, or not to be–that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
    And by opposing end them.

  20. 20
The money can be in your account the same day. says:

Does anyone believes that Junkers is anything but a manufactured victory for Cast Iron?

  21. 21
    Taxfodder says:

Dave is the “multi nationals” friend/stooge, voted into leadership to take care of their interests which lay with the “in” vote…making sure their profits keep on rolling in no matter what….Brits or whatever they are these days can go swivel.

Cameron is the ultimate placed fall guy, Juncker is just another bump in the road to a Federal Europe it makes no difference to multi nationals who runs what as long as the cash keeps on coming.

Juncker is a Punch and Judy side show….nothing more.

  22. 22
Hargaret Modge, Labour MP and Hypocritical serial long term aggressive Tax Avoider + expenses thief says:

I know the odds are stacked against me but that doesn’t mean you change your mind, it means you stand up for what you believe and you vote accordingly.”

I totally 100% agree with Dave. Thats precisely why I don’t care if Labour win because I’m voting UKIP. Thanks Dave for articulating exactly why we should all vote UKIP…. IMO.

  23. 23
Hargaret Modge, Labour MP and Hypocritical serial long term aggressive Tax Avoider + expenses thief says:

If Dave thinks Junckers the wrong man then Junckers either absolutely Brilliant or utterly beyond the pale awful. Since Dave’s judgement about everything is crap.

  24. 24
Camera On - It's Cameron! says:

Weak tea with lots of sugar…

  25. 25
    BC says:

Remind me, who won the f***ing war ?

  26. 26
    Prince Rupert says:

what a sad and ignorant position to take. If you want a referendum then vote Tory and you will get what you want. If you vote UKIP you will get Labour and you will never get a referendum. Why would a man who wanted a referendum not back Dave and go for the referendum, what is it with you lot – are you so thick you cant understand this?

  27. 27
    British democrat says:

Remind me, Gary, because I seem to have forgotten. Who exactly elected Mr Junker? And in which election did he stand?

The EU and democracy in any form are exactly opposed to each other and the structure in Brussels is deliberately designed to give the impression of democratic accountability when in fact the exact opposite is true and ever will be.

If you want to know what know what British values are I can help you out. One of them is not allowing yourself to be bullied whatever the odds lined up against you. Another is refusing to accept political servitude.

  28. 28

Call me Dave, isn’t too hot on the choosing people front, is he!

  29. 29
Who'd have believed it? (Everyone). says:

How’s that EU reform thing going for you then Dave?

  30. 30

Dave s had a haircut! Wonder if he went to his usual ennobled Italian .

Or was it Geo F . Trumper of Mayfair this time for a belt and braces job?

  31. 31
    Mycroft says:

    The BBC earlier…

David Cameron is like Wayne Rooney… sets up the ball , takes a huge run-up, misses the goal… goes home early!

    F’cking hilarious.

    Vote UKIP.

  32. 32

Luxembourg — the Croydon of MittelEuropa.

  33. 33

We trust that in the new Commussion Baroness Ashton will be replaced allowing her to return to her workaday role of twee parish councillor in her local community before she was so egregiously over – promoted to her current position by Mc Fife ( or was it “Middle Easy ” Tony ?)

Alternatively she could take up a junior clerical post with “Ashton ” Villa FC.
They ve been looking as though they d feel more at home in the minor leagues of late .

  36. 36
    Unimpressed of England says:

If only we had Blair/Brown/Millibland/Clegg there to tell us how well we played the political game in allowing Juncker to be elected.

Hopefully they could control their squealing while on camera, because the Eurocrats would have only just started to really f*** them….

  37. 37
    UKIP (the FA branch) says:

What has the World Cup ever done for England?

The sooner we are out of it for good, the better.

  38. 38
    The EU says:

If the UK worked harder, they wouldn’t notice the additional taxes and charges we would like to add.

It’s the UK’s own fault really – how can they expect the rest of the EU to have a similar standard of living to the UK if the UK won’t work hard enough to support it?

  39. 39
    Zero Hours Contract says:

Did you want Fries with that?

  40. 40
    Ice Rink Engineer/Technician/Water Splurger says:

I’m so stupid that I even read all of your comment. Now just how ‘thick’ is that?!

Alan Milburn says Labour’s scaremongering campaign for an unreformed NHS will not win election…

“It would be a fatal mistake, in my view, for Labour to go into this election looking as though it is the party that would better resource the National Health Service but not necessarily put its foot to the floor when it comes to reforming. Look, reforms are not easy, but the Labour Party is not a conservative party. It should be about moving things forward not preserving them in aspic. You have got a pale imitation actually of the 1992 general election campaign, and maybe it will have the same outcome. I don’t know.”
