Not So Lovely Luciana: You Won’t Like Her When She’s Angry
Bossy Berger Gets Through 15 Staffers Since 2010

Luciana Berger’s colleagues were amused to hear she had hosted a round-table summit on “well-being in the workplace” last week. As Guido revealed in yesterday’s Sun column, not so lovely Luciana’s record as a nightmare boss is the stuff of Westminster legend. Berger has had no fewer than 15 assistants since becoming an MP in 2010. They are: Hadyn Belfield, Eve Byrne, Katherine Thompson, Richard Durber, Jason Keen, Geila Alpion, Kaitlyn Degnen, Joe Fortune, Daniel Whittle, Ryan Jones, David Clinton, Rebecca Rowland, Thomas Caygill, Sarah Mills and Sheila Murphy. One bruised aide tells Guido: “She’s the worst of the lot.” The true number could even be higher, as some staffers may not have lasted long enough to be registered.

If any current or former staffer who has felt Luciana’s wrath would like to talk about their experience, in complete confidence, they can contact Guido’s new hotline for parliamentary staff who have been bullied in the workplace on 0709 284 0531, or at this email address. Discretion guaranteed…

Who does she think she is, David Ruffley?

UPDATE: Luciana tweets:

Don’t say Guido didn’t warn you…

I’m asking for a friend, who’s looking for work. Not me.

Just wanted to make that clear.

She could go up a size. They would be more comfortable.

    Saif Al Mubajarh says:

I suspect she doesn’t care for the “little people” and sees these assistants as expendable fodder. Rather like her constituents.

    She’s the victim here.

Perhaps the staffers forgot the endless minute silences Scousers insist upon.

Those mawkish, grief junkie, self pity city dwellers can be as fanatical as the Taliban if you do not show appropriate respect for their cult of woe.

She’s thick and self opinionated. She does nothing for the local’s except push charity work. She was parachuted in 2010, against the wishes of the locals, but still won? Safe Labour seat the people don’t think for themselves. I asked her to vote against ‘Bedroom tax’ she said she had to vote with the party.(Abstain) Then 2 years later asks for our vote to ‘repeal’ the bedroom tax. Because I pointed out, if they had voted as the public wanted, ‘against’ it, in the first place, she wouldn’t be needing our vote now! For this I was barred from ‘commenting on’ her FB Labour page!

Women in the workplace is a really shitty idea. says:

“The true number could even be higher”

Yup. My guess is she gets through one a month. When you add on a few weeks’ delay while the vacancy is filled, this seems plausible.

    Bluto says:

Plenty of red credentials. She is great niece of Labour MP Manny Shinwell.

“Berger’s selection was controversial within the local party. Frank Hont, regional secretary of the union UNISON, lodged protests about the selection process. During the selection process, Berger lived for about a month at the home of Jane Kennedy, then the sitting MP, whose boyfriend was Labour official Peter Dowling, who ran the selection process. The completed ballot papers were returned to Kennedy’s home address. Kennedy insisted that she and Dowling acted properly. Nearby MP Peter Kilfoyle claimed that there had been a deliberate operation by Blairites to get Berger selected.”

“Berger has previously been reported to have had a relationship with Siôn Simon, Labour MP for Birmingham Erdington until 2010.”

Alan Milburn says Labour’s scaremongering campaign for an unreformed NHS will not win election…

“It would be a fatal mistake, in my view, for Labour to go into this election looking as though it is the party that would better resource the National Health Service but not necessarily put its foot to the floor when it comes to reforming. Look, reforms are not easy, but the Labour Party is not a conservative party. It should be about moving things forward not preserving them in aspic. You have got a pale imitation actually of the 1992 general election campaign, and maybe it will have the same outcome. I don’t know.”
