Bigotgate 2: Audio of Labour MP’s New Gillian Duffy Slur

Labour MP Alex Cunningham has literally done a Gordon; today’s Sun reveals he called Gillian Duffy a “bigoted woman” at a party fundraiser. Listen below as a panel member suggests the Prime Mentalist shouldn’t have apologised for his own remarks back in 2010, with Cunningham agreeing:

“She was a bigoted woman and that’s all there is to it.”

Cunningham has now issued his own grovelling apology. Mrs Duffy strikes again…

        Bluto says:

I watched QT last night, mea culpa, and once again there was the wilful distortion of conflating concern about levels of immigration with hatred of immigrants. From the panel, all of whom were expected to trot out predictable sanctimony about “enrichment”, and from the audience. Except for one man, black, who argued a point pro-UKIP that had the fools puzzling how to respond. Here their very own prejudices were being confronted as he explained, cogently, about the pressures of mass immigration on ordinary working people such as him and his family.

That unknown man should have been on the panel rather than that gobby, opinionated footballer Joey Barton or the odious Mary Creagh who managed not just to deliver endlessly repetitive, long winded and simplistically shallow plugging of her precious Labour party but to completely evade the immigration question. Not one of the cowards on the panel challenged her on Labour’s record on immigration or called her out on her pompous claim to the moral integrity of her party.

The whole thing was shameful, sickening and an indictment on reason and truth.

It wasn’t Mary Creagh who was on QT last night but Margaret Curran, who to be fair, is just as odious. Always bear in mind, though, that QT is recorded earlier in the evening and what we see is an edited version of the live show. So, of course, we never know what was actually said by anyone.

Why the BBC, via Dimblebore almost pretending the show is live, persist in asking viewers to send in texts or tweets on a programme which finished a couple of hours earlier is completely beyond me.

I was in Paris in 1940 and saw a lot of petty bigotry over a few German visitors. You’d think the French would welcome the cultural diversity, but the joy of vibrant community of immigrant Germans seemed lost on them.
Luckily, the Vichy government were much nicer, and rightly called out any objectors to the new open door immigration policy as the bigots they were. Glad to see the Vichy spirit lives on in our socialist brothers in the Labour party.

It’s unbelievable, isn’t it? And it’s not just the French who are racist bigots; look at Poland! Did they celebrate the arrival of our Panzers, spreading European unity and diversity across their land? And were they grateful when we invited some of them to work in Germany? So will the Labour Party force its MP, Alex Cunningham, to apologise to Mrs Duffy? Why is it ‘necessarily’ bigoted by definition (according to Labour) to be concerned about massive immigration levels – Mrs Duffy was concerned for the chances of her own grandchildren wasn’t she? Is that so unreasonable?

So will Alex Cunningham chose to apologise in order to try to salvage his own political career, despite what he says of Gordon Brown? What will Ed Miliband say? Anything? The Labour Party today is sickening, and I say that as a former Labour voter in younger days.
