    That makes him 14 then

  2. 2
    Bob Crow says:

    Up the workers!

  3. 3
The British media are cunts says:

He’s still not as rough looking as Kay Burley or Cathy Newman.

  4. 4
    Unspeakable Pervert says:

    Bagsies on Miriam !

  5. 5

  6. 6
    Cyril Smith says:

Well, the electorate certainly gave him a good spanking.

  7. 7
    David Dimblebore says:

Just can’t understand the result when week after week I spew out leftist propaganda on QT. It’s like nobody watches the show or summinc

  8. 8
    Jethro says:

… ‘d make a good cover for a re-issue of the old song ‘Who’s sorry now?’

  9. 9
    Anonymous says:

Farage should also be indebted to James O’Brien.

  10. 10
    Morgan's Organ says:

Do they have ‘men in grey suits’ in the LibDems or just men in gruuby macs?

  11. 11
    lolita says:

    teeth whitening

  12. 12
    EeeYepBlowing Whistles says:

There is a lot of egg on the faces of the Lib Dem footsoldiers (dupes) – whom he has made look like fools too. It just gets better and better.

  13. 13
    Hoots! It's Clown says:

Just been advising Nick on how to stay on in office, when you’ve led your party to shambolic defeat. He’s lapped it up!

  14. 14
    right old tosh says:

all part of cameron and clegg’s plan to shuffle off to his commissars job in brussels… I am the weakest libdem, goodbye..

  15. 15
    BBC HR Dept says:

If any distressed BBC staff are suffering Post UKIP-Landslide Stress Disorder, feel free to take weeks of work on a sickie, no questions asked.

  16. 16
    The Growler says:

At least he tried in his battle with Farage, the second 2 wouldn’t appear for any excuse you like to make up, Dave is the PM and leader of his rabble and Teddy Mili the leader of his rabble, they could have tried

  17. 17
    Anonymous says:

It’s so nice to know that the dems will let him stay as leader, which is the equivalent of them all running towards the edge of the white cliffs of dover.

  18. 18
    F S Trueman says:

    He wont resign.

You can rely on the good folk of Sheffield to do the right thing.

  19. 19
    Nick Clogg says:

    Tis but a flesh wound.

  20. 20
    The Growler says:

I cannot understand why Teddy Boy came second in spite of the barrage levelled against him and his party and why the Magnificent Dave and his lot came third, despite having the backing of the Master and Fawkes and co.

  21. 21
    more Maggie's please says:

Farage should also thank Cameron for his success. The days of competent non public school politicians like Maggie and Major leading the Conservatives have long gone.

The public see the mess that Cameron and his Eton morons faction have done to the country and respond ‘we can have another Maggie, his name is Nigel’ and they make it happen with their votes.

    Truly fantastic.

  22. 22
    Gary Elsby Stoke-on-Trent says:

Nick Clegg had the guts to take UKIP head on and on TV.
Depending on your point of view, he hammered Farage on every subject.
Also, depending on your point of view, Cameron and Miliband ran scared.

  23. 23
    thostids says:

It’s all well and good him saying it’s only a scratch. He’s bleeding all over the place and there’s no one left to clean up. Oh, leave the Bugger to bleed to death.

  24. 24
    Cloth capped hunk says:

    We will, we will.

  25. 25
    James O'Bottom says:

It’s a bit baffling as to why the people of Sheffield Hallam voted for him in the first place before’97 it was a safe Conservative seat when the Tories were at least still sort of perceived as being conservative a seat where even with the ‘New’ Labour revolution the voters couldn’t stomach the idea of voting Labour so they may have been for a time fooled into voting Lib/ Dim obviously not studying their actual policies very closely. I hope they vote Smegg out.

  26. 26
    Operation Werewolfe says:

    Mad Nigel thanks his Ma.

  27. 27
    Iain Gill says:

I personally wouldn’t be surprised to see UKIP get a majority at the general election. I think Nigel is underestimating his own chances.

  28. 28
    Unspeakable Pervert says:

Which ‘point of view’ was that then ? That of the ostrich ?

  29. 29
The end of the LibDems says:

looking at what happened in the post ww1 shift from lib to lab, it’s the 40-60 seat zone that UKIP might more realistically be able to enter with careful targetting.
decapitating all three liblabcon leaders would be fun though.

  30. 30
The end of the LibDems says:

    ooh you are cheeky!

bravery and stupidity are sometimes hard to differentiate between, ’tis true

  31. 31
The end of the LibDems says:

    s n i g g e r

    ooh you are cheeky!

bravery and stupidity are sometimes hard to differentiate between, ’tis true

  32. 32
    Scum says:

Nah, that is just the Botox wearing off

  33. 33
    EeeYepBlowing Whistles says:

Watched the Big Burley Sky Fairey girly with her ear prompts and script trying to do over Hamilton about a manifesto about an hour or so ago …

Then remembered wasn’t it that sleeper ex tory David Campbell bannerman who made a hash up of the last UKIP manifesto – almost as if it were planned like ….
know wot i mean like guv …

Rumours are that David Campbell Bannerman has his cottage arrangements arranged like jack Dromey’s!!!

  34. 34
    Anonymous says:

Now Cameron needs to tell him that if he doesn’t help to change the unfair boundaries, the coalition is finished

  35. 35
    Anonymous is a moron says:

Perhaps you could go over with them?

  36. 36
    Anonymous is a moron says:

I sincerely hope YOU’RE finished, Anonymous, you raving twat.

  37. 37
    thostids says:

That’s what Boothby prayed for. What is it with these politicians and their playmates?

  38. 38
    EeeYepBlowing Whistles says:

you guys just need another ‘anonymous’ monikered twat to post and we’ll have the three not so wise monkeys bitching among themselves – Dave Nick ‘n Ed.

  39. 39
    Lamestream Media says:

It’s not over until Nick Clegg cries!

  40. 40
    EeeYepBlowing Whistles says:

There was a day when men of backbone in the UK parliament – would fall on their swords … but when the legal parasites took over parliament well … things ‘changed’ alright – and not for the better or good of the British Public.

  41. 41
    Fred Housegoe says:

    Taxi for Mr Clegg.

  42. 42

The White Cliffs are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The last thing they need is political fly-tipping by the Lib Dems.

  43. 43
    Democracy died years ago says:

Clegg was exposed as a liar and buffoon by Farage.

  44. 44
    thostids says:

Sheffield Hallam has a high student membership. It is probable that having pissed on the stupids of 5 years before ( come the next Election) Clegg is counting on the next generation of stupids to have forgotten the promise he personally made and broke about tuition fees.
Clegg hasn’t factored in that some things go into the public memory and HIS dishonesty was so bare-faced and obvious that he is permanently dye-stained. Anyway, he has also forgotten that he’s just had all his troops massacred. There isn’t any Lib Dem European Party. And there won’t be a LibDem Parliamentary Party after May 2015. Good byee, good byee…..

  45. 45
    Anonymous says:

Rather admire Nick Clegg for sticking to his principles and going down with the ship rather than doing a ‘Vicar of Bray’ and trimming party policy to suit the prevailing view of the electorate. And I speak as a Euro sceptic Tory.

  46. 46
    Lemsip Opec says:

I shall return and lead my party to victory, equipped only with my secret weapon, the Cheeky Girls (oops, aren’t they Romanian)

  47. 47
    EeeYepBlowing Whistles says:

The city of London (real controllers) and the Vatican – are working on it all – they still think the public are stoopid … i got news for them.

  48. 48
    broderick crawford says:

    BOTH FRIT !!!

  49. 49
    broderick crawford says:

Rest in peace Bob . For good or ill your race is fully run .

  50. 50
    EeeYepBlowing Whistles says:

The earthquake – is going to hit those who have ‘hidden themselves’ behind a thousand and one ‘fronts’ – their days of duplicity are numbered. They have often played in particular the public like fools – and hidden themselves behind religious cloaks – OFF ALL FAITHS. (CoE, Cath, Muz, J et cetera)

  51. 51
    broderick crawford says:

I wonder if you did as well Cyril …when he was an innocent fresh faced enthusiastic child apparatchik in the legacy Liberal Party.

  52. 52
    broderick crawford says:

Yeah right … where s my cheque Nige .

  53. 53
    broderick crawford says:

Well … in the Labour Party they used to have deselected Mp s in shiny macs standing on the corner of Brewer Street promoting programmes on porn for Radio Five Dead , like Jackie Smith ( no names no pack drill )

    Does that help ?

  54. 54
    broderick crawford says:

( unless of course he enjoys the favour of the Queen of the Netherlands who might give him a shoo -in because of his Dutch connections . That is assuming Holland are big enough to be allowed a Commissioner all their own and don t have to share with Belgium –which has just voted in a euro party that wants to abolish the country and divide it between France and the Netherlands — probably with Brussels remaining as an enclave for the sole purpose of housing gravy train bureaucrats –a bit like the Vatican State.

  55. 55
    broderick crawford says:

……. after all it isn t known as Steal City for nowt is it ?

  56. 56
    broderick crawford says:

    Yeah Nick .

A bit like Harold s was at Hastings .

  57. 57
the establishment don't like it up`em says:

Great Nigel……big hearted man…steered away from sarcasm, but just a hint of irony. A true gentleman.

  58. 58
    Gary Elsby Stoke-on-Trent says:

Farage will improve on 10K tax?
    Farage will build 2m houses?
Farage will re nationalise our railways?
    Most Tories will vote Farage?
    The statistics don’t add up.

  59. 59
    gildedtumbril says:

Cleggover should not be permitted to resign, he should be sacked.

  60. 60
    Anonymous says:

    Not as much as you

  61. 61
    Disillusioned says:

He is a perfect leader for the Liberal Democrats:- totally undemocratic he reneged on the deal to fix the unfair boundaries because the country refused to back his proportional representation referendum and denied us a fair democracy.

  62. 62
    Psephologista says:

Making a virtue of necessity, more like. What other option was there for Clegg? What other option now?

  63. 63
    Educashun, Educashun, Educashun says:

You thick fooking bellend – it comes up as ‘Anonymous’ if nothing has been entered in the ‘Name’ box when ANYONE clicks to submit their post.

  64. 64
We Won't Get Fooled Again says:

I’m never going to criticise someone for engaging in grown up political debate.

  65. 65
    Schadenfreude says:

You mean anyone else besides kippers read this blog?

  66. 66
    EeeYepBlowing Whistles says:

“Bacon Butties to rule in 2015″

  67. 67
    thostids says:

Errrr unlike Admiral Tom Phillips who unwisely rated his chances in the Capital Ship v Air attack and got to prove he was wrong, taking Repulse and Prince of Wales with him to the bottom of the South China Sea, Admiral Clegg has merely pointed out that he knew a lot of the Ex Lib Dumps now without livings or futures whilst he sips Rioja or whatever other medicaments he decants into his stomach, whilst enjoying the complete and rapturous support of his would-be successor who doesn’t want the dead-man’s job until the bugger has, at least, stopped kicking.
I think Clegg’s going to develope “survivor’s syndrome”, and will bug-out to Fortress Europe. A sort of reverse Els Bells.
Can you imagine watching Gove grinning and crossing every single day off the calendar whilst sniggering loudly……Stir crazy!

  68. 68
    The Growler says:

Broderick, they sure were, wow, we agree

  69. 69

  74. 74
    thostids says:

Mrs Macmillan, mostly, whilst Harold was consigning mega-numbers of Cossacks, Croats men, women and children to death by Communism. Ably assisted by the ist Lord Aldington, Brigadier Toby Low. Apparently, when the Hereditaries were rusticated from The Lords, Aldington was granted a Life Peerage so he could continue to do his bit.

  75. 75
    Joe Bloggs. says:

Could get worse as the rumours abound about the odious and incompetent Uncle Vince Incapable, currently in China, getting his backstabbing knife honed there, while out of public view.

  76. 76
    Joe Bloggs. says:

Smart Alec Salmonella on to BBC about Farage getting all the media publicity, conveniently forgetting that the majority was vitriolic and negative (Farage words “shedloads of abuse”).
At least Nigel has the capacity and strength to do the work of 3 Lib Dem leaders.

  77. 77
Jimmy the Red Naughtie - BBC trusty says:

I am truly disgusted and would love to go on a sickie but I must cover the Scottish question with (read FOR) my mate Alec.

George Galloway says of his former Respect candidate the UKIP MEP turned Tory, Amjad Bashir…

“Clearly Bashir does not have any real political principles or commitment, only naked opportunism and self-interest. He represents the revolving door principle in politics. The Tories are welcome to him because he will cause them embarrassment. Fortunately Respect was able to act before he did it to us.”
