VICTORY: BBC Pulls Anti-UKIP Editor From Election Coverage

Following MediaGuido’s story yesterday revealing the anti-UKIP rant of BBC News Channel deputy editor Jasmine Lawrence, the Beeb has gagged her and relieved her of her duties for this week’s election coverage. A BBC spokesman tells Guido:

“Jasmine Lawrence was tweeting from a personal account. She has been reminded of her responsibility to uphold BBC guidelines. She has deactivated her twitter account and will now be playing no part in the BBC’s election coverage in coming days.”

We’re always watching…

        Socialism is theft says:

What UKIP want is for the British people to have the same rights as those that they have in 165 other countries of the world: countries like Cuba and Venezuela. To be able to choose a leader to run their country (not have it run by unelected, unaccountable people in Brussels) and decide who can come and live in their country.

        Why is that so wrong?

I have just been to vote at St Edmunds Primary School, Isle of Dogs.

They have folded the MEP Ballot paper in 4 parts, the last part covers the UKIP Candidate completely and no other candidate is obscured. When you open the ballot paper it looks as if there is no UKIP candidate at all.

Given the election being covered is today, that overnight victory seems short, erring on the Pyrrhic, given she’s still on staff, on salary and doubtless on leave until she can quietly return to add her unique skills to the general election coverage, probably older, wiser and less probe to flaunting just how much BBC staff don’t leave their personal (that see how important and influential I am bio header mentions the BBC twice) views at the professional door.

Humour? I’m being very serious. We are trying to build a better world for our children. A world where people can live free from the clutches of predatory capitalism. A world in which mutual happiness takes priority over individual self-interest.

Together we can build a future that is based on harmony, compassion and collectivism. A future where corporations cease to exist and everyone only eats organic quinoa and organic fair trade soya milk. A future in which our children aren’t bombarded by Hollywood films but only see nutritious creativity by the likes of Ken Loach.

Today will decide whether you love children or hate children, for they are our future. Make your vote count. Vote Green. If you don’t, then you hate children. You don’t hate children, do you?

If we weren’t talking about the BBC, she’d have been already dismissed summarily.

As it is, I suspect that they’ll have to fire her in due course. as her continued presence in post would be manna from heaven for all right-minded critics. Anytime the BBC claimed impartiality, if she was still there then her name would be the perfect reply.

      The Beeb don’t sack lefties.
      eg

Top lady somewhere in the Beeb, stated online…
“When Thatcher dies I’ll be dancing in the street”.
Was She sacked? Hell no, instead, a polite memo was sent around the offices telling to beeboids to be more careful on facebook.

A bloke responsible for passing on complaints to the Beeb was caught binning anything saying the organisation was biased towards the left. Was He sacked? No.
He was quietly moved to another department.

BBC News needs closing down, it’s appalling people are forced to fund this.

This creature was broadcasting her views. As an Editor for a ‘so-called’ impartial broadcaster, can she EVER be trusted with her approach to other political stories.

I sent this just a few moments ago…
Full Complaint: The suspension of a senior news executive for demonstrable bias just before a national election was in my view the correct first action to take. Doubtless she will be dismissed after due process as her position is untenable. While other national news services reported the BBC’s decision, it was notably absent from the BBC’s own output. It is undeniable that you have a public service duty for impartiality, even when it applies to a fault within the executive structure and or HR issues within the Corporation. Thus to suppress this story is tantamount to censorship. By contrast to your ‘dirty linen basket should be kept closed’ approach, I draw the corporation’s attention to recent coverage in the New York Times of the controversial summary firing by that very newspaper of Jill Abramson. It reported both sides of the issue for all to see and judge. I cannot see how the BBC remit for impartiality can be used as a bulwark to licence fee renegotiation as long as slips and errors such as this continue to occur. You are digging for youselves a subscription service grave unless you issue firm guidelines on this issue of bias and make sure miscreants are publicly reported upon.
