Circle-Run NHS Hospital Named Best In England by Experts

48 hours after Ed Miliband claimed that private companies were sending the NHS “backwards”, Circle-run Hinchingbrooke Hospital has been named the best hospital in England:

Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust has been named the top hospital in England for quality of care at an awards ceremony in London last night. The 25th annual CHKS Top Hospitals Awards ranked all healthcare providers across the UK. The CHKS award for top quality of care was judged by an expert panel based on 12 key medical indicators including: how long patients had to stay in hospital after treatment, mortality rates, cancer waiting times and patient-reported outcomes.”

Which makes Ed’s speech look a little silly, especially the the bit about how Cameron “has put the principles of markets and competition at the heart of the NHS like never before”:

“A boost for the private companies and competition lawyers.

A burden for everyone else.

Competition.

Fragmentation.

And privatisation.

That’s how the Tories see the future of our NHS.

That’s why it is going backwards.

Friends, they’re the wrong principles and the wrong priorities from the wrong government.”

If you open the window and listen carefully, that distant wailing you can hear is Andy Burnham reading this…

what about the large frauds carried out by Serco etc. in running privatised contracts. Why no outrage about that as well? Where are the criminal prosecutions? Why are they winning contracts again, where are the consequences for wilfully ripping us off.

The award just ranks hospitals it doesn’t attest to their quality – being the least worst hospital doesn’t mean the NHS as a whole is therefore brilliant.

That’s the weird thing about the NHS. Everyone agrees there’s a problem, but no one is prepared to consider something other than the NHS. It’s like you can have any healthcare system you want, as long as it’s the NHS.

Why is anyone surprised that Mo Ass-ar is a liar? Look up taqqiya. Muslims are instructed to lie in furtherance of their ideology. Not only lie but stealing, killing and fraud are all acceptable if the targets are kuffars. So when their takeaways are filthy, their so-called charities are actually fronts for terrorism fundraising, and they publicly denounce terrorism, it’s all part of their agenda of lies. Ironically, Anjem Choudhry is the most honest muslim in Britain because he doesn’t deny the fact he wants to see us all dead. He is the real face of islam.

Have any of you ever tried debating Labour’s horrific record with a Labour supporter? If you have, you’ll know what truly tribalist idiots they are. They really are of the “it’s ok as long as it’s us who’s doing it” mindset. When I’ve mentioned Mid Staffs or Iraq or the rise in poverty under Blair and Brown, they will bat it away and simply repeat how rotten the Tories are. This is how they reconcile themselves to the atrocities of Labour’s 13 years, by comfortably believing that no one is ever worse than the Tories and if Labour did something, it must’ve been correct.

Try telling one of them that more innocent people died here and abroad under Blair than ever died under Mrs Thatcher’s watch and see their deranged reaction. They simply cannot accept nor stomach nor admit the basic fact that it was a Labour prime minister who’s responsible for a war based on lies that resulted in an estimated million dead Iraqis and thousands of dead British troops.

I would describe myself as a right winger but I wouldn’t like to see roads privatised or the Police or the army for that matter.
In fact there are many privatisations I’m not happy about.
The NHS did work well once as did our schools….make them work again.
Start by not making them a haven for politicised left wing tossers.

National health should be the ONE AND ONLY public sectir that should be ringfenced and where literally money should be no object . When you are ill you need to be cured , millionaire or pauper .
Every other budget can and should be cut but not the place that stops you from dying screaming on the streets just because you do not have money . It is a question if human dignity / compassion in an allegedly first world country .

Hinchingbrooke hospital is my local hospital. My mother was in there for 3 weeks with pneumonia last December. She had excellent treatment when an in patient. once discharged she was equipped with a home oxygenator and oxygen bottles. It was very well organised. I have nothing but praise for this hospital. it seems to be run very well. The menus are excellent too.

    It's unsustainable like this says:

I think the problems with the NHS apart from its recruiting of fucknut incompetent managers is that it is doing far more than it was designed to do,boob jobs, tummy tucks and sex changes for example.
Operations and treatments never envisaged by the creators of the NHS.
It’s also a victim of its own success people live longer they need new hips and knees heart and cancer drugs.
Too much going on and too many taking out more than they could ever hope to put in even after a lifetime of work.
Stick on top the people who haven’t put bugger all in at all it is a wonder the thing hasn’t gone bang already.

you are spot on, the only people who need plastic surgery are those that have been hideously mutilated by the like of hit and run driver ed balls. Any vanity plastic surgery should be paid for by the recipient, not the taxpayer. Neither should fertility treatment be available on the taxpayer. If you cannot afford the fertility treatment there is a fair chance that you cannot afford to bring up a child either.

a child is not a right it is a fluke of nature, some can some can’t, and it is probably for a reason

‘Disgraceful’ Serco falsified GP out-of-hours figures (Tgraph, March last year):

Employees at Serco, a multinational that made a £302 million profit last year, falsified records to make it seem 100 per cent of emergency patients in Cornwall were getting a face-to-face appointment in an hour. In fact, a quarter were having to wait longer.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/9913780/Disgraceful-Serco-falsified-GP-out-of-hours-figures.html

NHS may not be perfect but private companies don’t have a good record of delivering decent health services. I know which one I’d prefer.
