16 months will likely translate to at most 6 inside, provided she keeps her nose clean.

Her crime is serious, but compared to H’uhne who maintained an ongoing lie for 10 years whilst in a position of trust – being in public office – the sentencing numbers do not make for good optics.

This case demonstrates just how low-balled Chris H’uhne was on his sentence.

Peaches is dead because she was smack-head, with shit parents, encouraged to play up to the celeb live style by society and shieded from responsibility by muppets like you, who think a constant flow of high grade, cheap heroin would have prevented this, ahem, tragedy.

Briscoe was convicted for perverting the course of justice, a crime deemed to be extremely serious by the judiciary, and one for which Jeffrey Archer received a sentence of four years (released in two, I think). How very much worse it is for a judge to pervert the course of justice! Because of her privilaged position in dispensing justice to the rest of us, she should have received a greater sentence, or at any rate, the same tariff as Mr Archer. To be given only 16 months (out by Christmas, no doubt) is not justice, it is favouritism.

I think this is a sad end to a career over such a trivial issue. Why did she get caught up in the domestic spat between Huhne and his wife. Why does Vicky Pryce still get invited onto the BBC, she is a convicted criminal, and should not be supported in this way by the BBC, who no doubt will have Briscoe on at a later date. Once these people have fallen, then they should be denied the privilege of being in the media. Briscoe also has an odd relationship with her mother, lots of chips on her shoulder etc. Despite this I feel sorry for both Pryce and Briscoe, and it only goes to show that women should not be given an easy run in politics or the Board room, they may be sensible most of the time but they lack bottom
