Envy of the World Update

The Telegraph reports:

“The bodies of thousands of aborted and miscarried babies were incinerated as clinical waste, with some even used to heat hospitals, an investigation has found. Ten NHS trusts have admitted burning foetal remains alongside other rubbish while two others used the bodies in ‘waste-to-energy’ plants which generate power for heat.”

NHS Medical Director Bruce Keogh has written to all NHS trusts to tell them the practice must stop, because clearly they couldn’t work that out for themselves. Doesn’t it make you proud…

Their mothers didn’t want them, that’s why they killed them.

Might as well do something useful with the unwanted carcass.

  4. 4

Some people have lost all sense of control and awareness to allow this to happen. They must be sacked on the spot – no payouts – and stripped of their pension rights.

    Oh shut up you tarts.

What do you expect them to do?
Hand it to the mother in a Jiffy bag?

There is no suggestion in the article that requests for teh foetus are denied.

If people want a fancy funeral for an aborted foetus, they can always arrange it themselves.

  27. 27

My sentiments entirely. I’m almost surprised because I genuinely didn’t think the corrupt immoral behaviour of the public sector could get any lower, more fool me. But mere mention of Burnham or Blair or Brown and I realise there’s more pain yet to come from their legacies.

  38. 38
    jgm2 says:

What is that all about? Seriously? Him and Alan Hansen and Boy George and that Marilyn thing. What is that all about?

How did he get elected? Did they send around flyers to all the constituents with him in full eyeliner and lip gloss? Did the local ‘My granddad voted Labour…’ types just shrug their shoulders and give it ‘Oh, he looks like a lovely working class hero he does’ and vote Labour again?

    What the fuck?

  39. 39
    Diseased BBC Anus says:

I think we’re supposed to have selective outrage and ignore the “lifestyle choice” abortion which created this situation in the first place.

  42. 42
    RomaBob...working hard :) says:

Too many non-medical staff and jobs for life :)

  43. 43
    jgm2 says:

They might. But the sad reality is they’ll most likely have been going home with some skanky tart to her council flat to be brought up in a fugue of cigarette smoke for a few years before being turned over to social services at seven because well, ‘E’s out of contol he is, ‘e neva listens to a bleedin’ word Oi say, ‘e doesn’t, Gawd knows, I’ve tried, Oi have, the sacrifices I’ve made, given ‘im best years of moi life Oi ‘ave…’

If only their own mothers had pulled the same trick we might have been spared them too.

  44. 44

    NHS=National Homicide Service.

    Labour=The Nazi Party.

  46. 46
When will the Queen tell us of her Grief! says:

I can’t imagine private sector organisations having a ready access to human remains for the purpose, nor whether it would be economically viable.
Though I expect privte sector firms would be involved in supplying the technology involved.

  47. 47
    jgm2 says:

Everybody got that opportunity in concentration camps. Equal opportunities furnaces.

  48. 48
    A says:

Yes there should be ignity for the miscarried foetus at least and some supergloo for the sluts who can’t keep their legs together and resort to an abortion afterwards.

  49. 49
    Anonymous says:

This is very crass comment “miscarried babies” are not unwanted and the mothers did not kill them!

Although I’m very anti abortion under most circumstances, I would also say that statement is also not true in the cases of many abortions – but other pressures are brought to bear that force the mother to abort.

The NHS quote that 1 in 6 pregnancies end in a miscarry (studies in the US indicate that this many be closer to 1 – 3).

  50. 50
    RightwinggitRedux says:

    They eat babies.

  51. 51
    Don't Call Me Dave says:

An unborn human is still a human. If a vet can organise mass cremations for deceased moggies, it really shouldn’t be that hard for a civilised society to arrange something similar for people, even little baby ones.

  52. 52
    Doggie Fashion says:

It would have made for a wonderful vignette in the Olympic Opening Ceremony as stylised hospital porters threw foetuses into furnaces. Imagine that being beamed around the world when they were already confused by the weird paean to the NHS.

  53. 53
    Get Real says:

It’s not crass at all. Of course there are miscarriages and abortions for medical reasons but the vast majority are just unwanted babies.

  54. 54
    mark smith says:

Like other medial waste the NHS has to incinerate it along with leftover food.
If a pipe is connected from the oven Whats the beef?

  55. 55
    Pouy says:

Don’t try to dress it up with the cremated word.

Incinerating the murdered child amongst other clinical waste, limbs, organs, veins etc, is cremation.

Unless you want the ashes to be given back to the mother then mixing the waste up is not a problem. Then again, perhaps giving of ashes would cut down on the number of baby killings in this country.

  56. 56
    Last of his kind says:

you are kidding, right? if it was the most profitable option, they would feed them to their workers if they could.

profit is the over riding desire, not service quality or ethics or any of those other bothersome things

it’s a shame the NHS keeps giving ammunition to those who wish to destroy healthcare for everyone apart from the very rich.

  57. 57
    jgm2 says:

The NHS is run for the benefit of its employees. Any health ‘benefits’ that accrue are merely crumbs falling from the table.

  58. 58
    Cicero says:

He claims h’e’s never worn mascara – but how to explain away the pearlescent eye-shadow and lipstick?

  59. 59
    Dangerous Brian says:

Is that from the Andy Burnham hand book “Compassion in Healthcare, the Socialist View?”

  60. 60
    A person says:

That will never happen. How can you expect people who have wilfully killed an unborn child to have any moral scruples over the remains. If they viewed the remains as anything other than waste flesh they’d have to do the same for the unborn.

  61. 61
    Skeleton Bob says:

So the health systems of nearly every other country in the world (being private) are inhuman, are they? Why does Labour and their mutton-headed supporters never mention this?

  62. 62

Did Andy Burn Em give the orders?

  63. 63
    Anonymous says:

We all make choices and for some it is easier than for others but we control our fate. Just because a child may grow up to be a feckless waste of space doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have the opportunity, no mater how small and fleeting, to add something to the world that is worthwhile.

  64. 64
When will the Queen tell us of her Grief! says:

It’s a reasonable arbitary moment, but still arbitary.
Only about a third of fertilised eggs survive to birth.
You could roll it back and say that a condom is human intercedance of a potential life and therefore murder.
Or you could say that the woman who tells you (or Handycock) to get stuffed when you offer to buy her a drink is denying the right of a potential unborn life, and therefore a murderer.

Everything we do is Human intercedence. Stay at home tomight? Fail to meet your potential wife? MURDER!

The law is roughly that a life begins when it can live independent on the mother.

Leave the rest of the arguament to the yankee religious loonies

  65. 65

I’ve yet to read of a suggestion (and a costing and suggestion of where the money should come from)

  69. 69
    Justin Poofyboots says:

Aborted & miscarried babies are considered to be rubbish? Shame!

  70. 70
    thostids says:

“They” are not humans. They become human beings when they are born and continue to live “en ventre sa mere”.
I really can’t understand the ridiculous furore that this item generates. Given that the hospitals’ incinerators burn vast amounts of gas to destroy all harmful substances, infective agents, diseased materials etc it is the bloody gas that heats the water rather than going straight to atmosphere!
Is anybody seriously unable to separate provocative nonsense from simple, decent fact?

  71. 71
    john in cheshire says:

This is what results when a nation is brainwashed into believing that there’s nothing wrong with aborting babies. No one knows what an abortion entials and no one cares. That a human being is created at conception doesn’t even register in anyone’s mind. And where should the blame for this appalling situation be places; in all those socialists/communists who have worked tirelessly over the decades to ensure their evil prevails.

the stats if you were really interested are easy to find, in ONS, abortions app 190,000 live births app 729,000 it is estimated 15 -20 % miscarry but most of them are long before hospital so some of app 140,000 miscarry somewhere near term and in hospital, so indeed the majority are abortions. Not that that excuses their insensitive behaviour nothing wrong with burning them but tossing them in the hospital boilers is a bit gross. By the way certainly where I am, this was exposed some years ago and now all term miscarriages are buried/ cremated as the parents wish

Dan Hodges on Labour unity

“We’ve heard a lot over the past few years about how Miliband has united Labour. But he has not united Labour. He has pacified Labour. He has placed it into a medically induced coma following the trauma of the party’s 2010 defeat.”
