Rufus Hound, in 2012:

“A lot of people here seem to be making the case that tax avoidance’s morally wrong. In which case vote to change it! I do.”

Aha, Rufus the Dufus! The Hound is in the doghouse of hypocrisy.

What’s the difference between this guy, Jimmy Carr and Chris Moyles?

Dear Rufus and all others who cannot understand the simple distinction:

Tax avoidance isn’t morally wrong – it’s illegal.

Tax minimisation (meaning following the tax rules to reduce the amount you pay to HMRC to what you should be paying) is legal, moral and just plain sensible. Everyone should do that.

    Is that clear now?

I think you got that wrong, mate says:

Er, actually tax avoidance is perfectly legal – whether you think it is morally wrong depends, among other things, on whether you think it is moral for the government to steal half your money and give it to the work shy.

It’s tax evasion that is illegal.

Oh bollosk. You’re right aren’t you. I promise to write out 100 times that tax evasion is illegal but tax avoidance is the same as tax minimisation and is thus legal.

        How stupid do I feel?

Fuck his life. What’s to stop him intentionally paying more than he has to? The answer is that he wants the rest of us to pay more.

    Scum.

    Pointless celebrities.

What does it take to get rid these celebrity leeches? Will a dose of Bob Martin’s bought on Fair Trade get rid of these parasites forever? Hypocritical lying scum & now Rufus Hound wants to jump on the Euro gravy train at the tax payers expense.
